Just did an oil change two days ago before going to bed pumped out oil from dipstick removed filter replaced with new filter put back on took off oil cap filled oil from there put back on let car idle after 10 minutes or so sounded fine went to bed car meet last night going there sounded fine didn’t stop for gas or anything did get food at drive thru then parked for a few hours to hang out when going to leave tapped the gas just to break the tires for a second not much prefer not to then just accelerated off to about 40 started hearing something under acceleration like slapping or tapping sounds like metal parked at home now I’ve gotta address the issue went for coffee this morning started car it started and idled fine listened then I tapped gas to see if the noise was still there instantly sputtered and bogged down but no noise so I feathered the gas and it began to even out after few ugly sounding bogs/chugs so in park no sound tapped a little more no sound put it in neutral gas and no sound so I left when coming back I heard the random tapping under mid Throttle can replicate once driven and warm but not with a cold engine got home started car was a little under operating temp and no noise for a moment then it was being to come back but no bogging upon start

 

I cannot help but it is easier and quicker to refill with oil by pouring it down the filter hole before replacing the filter. Have you checked the oil level on the dipstick?

Tried narrowing it down more it’s only creating this “rattle” now when it’s fully warm and when I let off accelerator from over 2k rpm in park or neutral can slightly hear something moving from a stop sign but not as loud weird

 

Check engine light on?
have you scanned for codes?

 

No I had p04440 on and off before but went away and was fine for a while now but it honestly sounds like the exhaust is rattling against something like it shifted? Or possibly something in it? I’ll be taking a peek under the valve cover tomorrow due to a small valve cover leak so let’s really hope it’s sobering with exhaust and not anything motor wise Im really thinking it’s not

To check if your catalytic converter is clogged, keep your hand close to the exhaust pipe end and ask someone to push the accelerator pedal to increase your car’s RPM to 2000. If you get a meager amount of exhaust coming out, you might have a clogged catalytic converter.

I began thinking this after work I am going to check I just need to find a second person hanging upside down out the door is kind of tough lol 😂 fingers crossed on placing a finger on the issue today im hoping it’s a cat it started up near motor which could be why I thought it was under valve cover but when I got home I’d it was the first cat it could’ve shook some of the honeycomb loose and tossed it to the second one just a theory if this is the case is there a way I can remove the piece inside without destroying exhaust until I find a low mile oem cat thinking of just buying an entire srt6 online and tearing it down for parts
