Cant control fan location, blows out every vent all the time.
After searching I still come up blank. I always search trying to figure issues out so as to not to be a pain.
I see bunches of fan issues including disconnected **** shafts, blower resistors (I think i changed that) vacuum line under the battery tray and others.
My fan blows out all vents all the time. The fan speed works fine. The temperature works. I have just been dealing with it by rolling the vents closed but besides that dang esp light EVERYTHING works perfect and it been bothering me more and more.
I have the Kenwood radio installed but I don't think the problem originates from that unless the **** shafts are actually unhooked. Any suggestions before I tear the dash apart?
Thanks

There are three(3) vents total, center vent has two (2)openings the others are single opening. All of them have a 'thumb' switch to open or close the respective outlet. Simply roll the thumb wheel to the desired flow/position.

Yes. I mean it blows out the heater, all vents, side window defrosters and defroster all the time. You can’t control where the air comes out like it used to.
Sounds like the on/off switch for the fan itself is not working. Probably easier to replace the entire unit itself....
He says the fan works fine. He can’t control where the airflow comes out.

If it blows all the time then the fan is ON (regardless of selector switch position) AND the thumb vents are rolled closed. It sounds like air is blowing continuously regardless of fan on/off position and vent thumbs open/closed.
It appears the Blower motor is not shutting off. Probably a problem with the HVAC control module. Post #4 would apply IF this is the case.

That’s what I’m starting to think. I’ll pull the panel off and see.
The temperature, fan speed and everything else works fine EXCEPT I can’t control the location where it blows. Sounding more and more like the shaft on the **** is not right.
Hope that’s the case because that’s free.

No. I took it off and the plastic posts are in correctly.
Funny I was just reading the thread about the dash unit not making good connections between the 2 circuit boards last night. The one about the fan speeds not working correctly.
Im going to take the dash/console to hopefully repair the ashtray not staying in today and might dig a little harder.

I got tired of missing with fan speed I replaced mine with one from slk. I found a post on slk forum about vacuum lines behind glove box. I'm going to take it apart today. I'm hopping that's it I've been chasing a small vacuum leak maybe that's it.
Well my vacuum lines were fine. But I though I had those in, I've took my time to make sure. The best way to make sure there in pull the glove box.
