Default Which 2006 cars immune to "Sticky Key?"

My 2006 Limited ignition key assembly is currently working just fine, but I'm considering preventative surgery to avoid getting stung by "sticky key" issues. I've noted on some of the great how-tos available here that "some" 2006 models may have an updated key assembly that eliminates the chance of sticky key. Is there a way to tell via vin number if my 2006 has the modified part? Perhaps by manufacture date? If I can avoid standing on my head for this fix, I'd be very appreciative. Thanks for your help!

Gerry

I have a 2006 Roadster built in August of 2006. From what I have read, any car built from mid year 2006 up was upgraded at the factory.
Read the second pdf link on the first post in the thread (mccubbin)

I wonder if Chrysler would have that info of the starting vin number for the fix

There's a good chance the dealer would say "What's a Crossfire"

Parts dept would be more likely to have the info when they switched part numbers for the new ignition assembly in 2006

That would work if you used the VIN, also the part number of the assembly should have changed due to the modification.
