I am going to mount a dash cam to my 2005 roadster and need to run the wiring through the firewall so I can tap into the fusebox there - need a full time hot, ignition on hot, and ground anywhere.
I don't see a way through the firewall. There are various hoses and wiring bundles going through it, but from the inside I don't see a clear path next to an existing hose or bundle that the wiring can be worked through. I was hoping to find a removable rubber grommet but don't see one. I suppose that's a testament to the builders.
Have you run wiring though the firewall from inside the driver's area without having to drill a hole somewhere or did you find an opening large enough to accommodate three small wires? Where?

Behind the battery there is a grommet. Remove the battery and tray and expose the grommet, there is a nipple on the grommet that can be cut off. This exposes a hole in the grommet that a wire can be past through.
I have heard of access in the fuse box area, this may through the hole the fuse box harness goes through, not sure though.

Not with my car right now but there is a grommet below steering, easily accessible on the firewall near the fuse box. Poke a hole through the grommet and fish a wire through to locate it on interior. I cut a small X in the grommet to feed the dash cam wire through. The small X will seal around the wires and I connected to the fuse box with fuse traps. Quick easy and clean installation without wires running all over the engine bay. Good luck.

Thanks to you all,
found the grommet and also used the switched power. The grommet is hard to see but it’s in the shadow of the booster, behind and below it.
You guys are making this too hard. I have ran several wires from the cabin to the underhood fuse box and it's easy.
Raise hood
Remove cover from fuse box.
Remove inner cover using tabs at the arrows:
Pry up the fuse tray by inserting a flat blade at the yellow arrows:
To the right, under the high current studs, is a channel to the underdash. Insert a NON CONDUCTIVE stick/fishtape/pole/etc., into the channel, it will pop out under the dash (04-06 models, you must pop off the under dash plastic shield above the pedals). Tape your wire(s) onto the stick and pull them back thru. DONE.
