I am new to the community just recently got mine and it came with this huge obnoxious tablet as the stereo. I have already asked around on facebook and its a dead end on there AOZ parts no longer exist but they used to make these really nice double din dash kits so you can sit a little stereo in your dash really nicely. I keep seeing comments of people who are working on similar things is there anyway I can get my hands on a file or even better the part itself or from a different manufacture ? I am willing to buy second hand.
The photo in post #1 is my car. That was done with AOZ parts, they didn’t fit real well. I have two other cars I would like to do, hopefully someone will print a nice set of bezels.
The easiest way to do this is to build one. It’s not that hard to do.
if you’re handy and creative, you’ll have one done in under 2 weeks.
If your not handy, you’re going to need to accept and enjoy the single din until someone either starts making them or a 3D print file is made available.
I’m curious, if one was available for sale, where would the sell price need to be? What would this be worth? If it was $500 would that be crazy? perhaps if there was a known market with a decent sell price, someone may be swayed to set this up as a side hustle.
Parts to build one $200 plus time
time = $???.00/ hour
I think 180 would agree, if you need to factor in your time it’s well over $500
I just noticed how many install photos were in post #1, my car is the first one. I don’t remember how much I paid for those bezels but I don’t think I would hesitate to pay $250 for bezels, maybe more. When I drive one of our other Crossfires I really miss apple car play for music and maps. I also added a backup camera which is nice coupled with the larger display.
I made two double din installations, the first kept the ash tray where it was originally with the buttons in the centre console. The second got rid of the ashtray and had the buttons placed where they were. The ashtray and passenger seat alarm were installed in the window up/down bezel above the window switches. The radio and switch bezel were made in one piece.
All bezels used OEM parts cut to suit.
