Default Starts and Stops

New member here. I bought a 2005 Limited convertible with a funky key fob case. I replaced the case internals to a new case including the chip. Now when I start the car, it starts then stops twice. I wait a few minutes then it starts right up. This has happened twice in two days. Is this a programming issue with the fob? I appreciate any help. BTW, when you turn the key on there are about 5 beeps before the starter engages. Thanks, Vic Also no codes thrown

Welcome to the forum!
The beeps are normal. If you buckle your seat belt before starting the car, you shouldn't get any beeps.
Maybe this video will help with the fob

ZERACER, Looks like you are in Orange County, Im in Palm Springs area, are there Crossfire events in our neck of the woods??. Also, I reached out to DJ from Arizona with the following question but have not heard back. Maybe you have some intel on the RCM or SKREEM problem. Thanks for all the assistance and any info you can provide.

I recently bought a 2005 Limited convertible. I changed out a broken original(worked fine but then end was broken off) fob and recently I have started to have intermittent start stop Skreem symptoms. I do the two starts/dies then third time it wont even turn over. But I then wait 3 or so minutes and it starts right up. This happened this morning. First start Skreem symptoms then i waited 3 minutes or so and it started up and drove just fine., I then drove around making 4 errands where i turned off the Crossfire and it started up fine each time without Skreem symptoms. Do you have any data on whether this is a bad Skreem or RCM. If its an RCM issue I would love to have you repair it, however right now its my only car. Do you have refurbished unit that I can pay for have you ship to me in La Quinta, Ca. then I can send you my unit. Its not a big deal but 5 days without a car would be a hassle. Id probably pay for overnight to you to cut down the time. I would appreciate any information or assistance.

You can get a spare RCM off of amazon to use while your original is out for repairs. It's good to keep a spare in the trunk. Also a spare Crankshaft position sensor (BOSCH only). And a metric tool set.
Link for RCM:
