I had a 2005 Roadster with 37,000 Miles. Probably the original RCM. I have a spare in the trunk. Today I went to start the car and it cranked and fired 3 separate times then wouldn't crank at all. I thought maybe the battery was low so I put the charger on and it seems to be charged. I use it pretty much so it's not sitting a lot. It will not open with the key fob. I had to use the key. they spoiler is down but the light is flashing, infact the parking lights flashed for a while after I tried to start it. Does this sound like an RCM failure? I didn't have time to try it tonight plus it's in the trunk which is locked. (I read the thread on opening the trunk when locked out). Any advice is appreciated.

 

Unfortunately, this sounds like the SKREEM issue. Search the forum, and pick one of the members who fixes or bypasses the SKREEM. Good luck!

Has anybody had any experience with Precision ECU? They have a SKREEM delete module.

 

Turned out to be a bad ground on the battery. Seems to be fine now.

Do you have secondary ground cable on your car?
You also might want to replace the ground strap going from the bell housing to the body.
