Default Car will not start after a flat battery

Hello,
I had a flat battery that was replaced okay and when i came to start the car all the lights on the dashboard came on but the car would not start.
I got the battery tested and a mechanic ran a diagnostic on the car who said it was the ignition. The key unlocks and locks the car and all the lights on the dashboard come on fine.

Does anyone know of a mechanic in the Manchester area who knows how to get my car started as no one will come out to look at it because it's a Chrysler Crossfire :-)
I am near the Manchester City football ground.

Getting a mechanic to look at my car appears to be a challenge whenever there's a problem.

Surprise, it is not a Chrysler, mechanically, it is a 2004 Mercedes SLK320. I would try changing the RCM, Relay Control Module. Seek help from an independent shop that works on Mercedes.

You might be better off posting your problem here: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/europe/
This will get responses and help closer to where you live.
When the battery was replaced, if the negative cable was connected first, then the positive, this may cause problems with the electronics.
It could be the Relay Control Module, you can get one for a reasonable price on amazon and try swapping it out and see if it starts. The RCM is located in the electronics box behind the battery. When you open the box, it will be the module closest to the engine.
You can also check your fuses and see if one has gone bad. There are fuses on top of the RCM that you can check as well.
One of our members, tighed1, is an RCM expert and has videos on youtube.

Hello,
I managed to get an electrician to look at it. He "waggled" the fuse box relay, and it started.
I have ordered a brand new one "Order confirmed: Mercedes-Benz Genuine Engine Management Relay Module Fits R170 A1705450305"

Thanks
Phillip
