Default Car cranks but no spark

Ok let me start by saying I’ve read every post I could that has to do with this subject and I’m still stuck.
Car cranks, has fuel pressure but has no spark.
I have another running crossfire that I have been swapping parts and running car still runs.
At this point I have done these things:
Swap crank sensor
Swap cam sensor
Swap battery
Swap rcm
Swap bcm
I have checked all fuses and tested continuity between fuse block to ecu box. Also between the crank sensor and the ecu.
When cranking there is no rpm on cluster or on scan tool live scan.
There is power to the coils but with no signal from the crank sensor there is no signal to fire the coils.
Of course there is a code for the crank sensor since it’s not reading it.
Am I missing something? Is there a neutral safety switch that would let it crank and not spark?
I talked with the guy from Precision ECU and he doesn’t think it’s a screem issue.
Is this just a harness issue?
Thank you to anyone that can lead me in the right direction

What car are we talking about? Automatic transmission or manual shift, Limited, SRT6 ? What DTC are present ?

Also letting people know where in the world you live will perhaps get you help from someone who lives nearby. No need to be specific, but in the USA give us a State and north, south or east west. It just might help you.

Hi, sorry to hear about your issue. I'm guessing it's not throwing any DTC codes? Because it really sounds like the crankshaft sensor, or maybe the connection to it has an issue - but I would think that would throw a code. Have you checked your battery voltage before and during the cranking - maybe it drops so low, the ECU stops working.
Good Luck, sincerely
-Jerry

As stated it is showing a crank sensor code P0335. Sorry I didn’t post the code number

Sounds like maybe the sensor, the connector, or the wiring. If all else fails Ed's Car Care on north Clinton north side of Ft. Wayne is an independent shop and has a Mercedes tech on staff. Send me a PM if you want to.

Spoon12 Assuming what you said in first post is correct and you aren't getting spark at any of your coils, the problem is common to all coils. That indicates a ground problem.

First thing to do is unscrew the nut at ground 101 which is below the neck of the fill tank of the windshield washer and clean it really well. A little carbon black applied is always a good idea. That ground 101 is for the PTCM. The other ground common to the coils is 104 which is located at the front of the engine. Both grounds will have brown wires connected to them. Be certain they are clean with good contact. The engine itself is grounded under the car with a braided large wire on the driver's side which has been know to developed corrosion, so be certain to check that also as many have replaced it.

If that doesn't work then it is time to break out the wiring diagrams and do some diagnostics.

PS Use only Bosch CPS

Thank you for the ground idea. It didn’t do anything but at least I was excited for a second thinking it might. I cleaned every ground terminal I could find and we are still the same. I’m going to try to do some more checking tomorrow to see if I missed something and then as you said I’ll have to start going wire by wire till I find the culprit

Did you get this figured out? Please share what you found, fixed, repaired, replaced to help us and others in the future.

Still no luck going down the road of possibly changing the engine harness I’ll let you know if that fixes it

Hi Spoon12,
I had a no crank, no start issue a couple of years ago. You might want to start by measuring all of the voltages before replacing the harness - the solution might turn out to be adding a jumper wire over the broken wire. Here's a link to my log where I documented the steps I used to finally find the broken wire that prevented my car from starting.
Good luck, sincerely
