Super charger questions
1. How much boost does the SRT blower produce?
2. Is the PCU in the SRT different than the normal PCU? (tuning)
3. Does the SRT have the same injectors as normal motor?
4. Has anyone look at a procharger?
I was looking at a procharger and there is plenty of room under the hood, might have to relocate the alt. A couple of brackets > and that would be a done deal. Any help would be great.
Thanks > Pete

...you mean ECU...Either way do a search for all the details to your above questions...short answer: no, it won't work properly...

I don't think we have found out if the ECUs can be swapped out, but it would probably only work safely with the AMG S/C. A procharger not make the boost the same as the AMG S/C. I'm still thinking that a turbo will be the cheapest rout.
The SRT is running ~1 bar (14.7 psi) of boost stock.
Yes, the tuning is different on the SRT as the other crossfires.
I am pretty positive the SRT injectors are larger.
No, you can not just swap the ECU's. My understanding is that the are VIN coded from the factory. I believe the dealer can override this with the help of the factory though.

because people with crossfires aren't into modding their cars. don't even start the "motor cant handle it crap". if the 11.6:1 compression it can handle the boost, so can a crossfire.

almost every car on the market can be supercharged. im sure not everyone is looking to get 200k miles outta their crossfire, for me it will just be a daily driver once i get a sky redline. i know that toyota claims that there is only a 2 percent decrease in engine life with their trd superchargers equipped, and their motors have not beefier parts to handle the power. mercedes builds some of the strongest motors out there.

For comparison, my 'Lude has 10.0:1 compression and the blower is running 8 psi at max boost. So that would pretty much mean that the SRT-6 blower & PCM software are not simply a bolt-on mod. You're either going to have to lower the compression ($$$) or slow that blower down by about half.
Bob...
The charger is making 14 psi of boost > WOW!!! I figured it made like 5-6 lbs of boost. What style blower is the AMG? Any pics?
What web site sells these saskins intakes, or is that even an intake?
Where are you all getting the performance chips from? Can you not program the ECU with a programmer, or do you have to get a chip?
I would do a search > but enjoy conversation and interaction!

Oh yea > I didn't mean "swap" the ECU > I was just wondering if the tuning was any different. There are lots of cars that can handle no injector upgrade or tuning with the addition of a blower. Of course the boost would have to be minimal...A blower will not lower the life of a motor > that would be a foot that would do that...lol

Anything is possible with enough time and money and patience but.
