It's all covered in the owner's manual....off the top of my head, they include all hinges (hood, doors, hatch, etc.), catches and spoiler joints on the NA. Probably missed a few but you get the idea.

Also the ignition lock cylinder needs to be "lubed" twice a year, according to the manual.

I have no idea still what to use to lube the lock cylinder, so I haven't done it yet.

I believe that they are all sealed/permanently lubed (until they fail) like most newer cars of today. I did take the bottom cover off and remember looking for, and not finding any, fittings to lube. If there are some, I too need to know where they are.

Lock cylinder grease is what they say in the shop manual, finding this grease is the key;-)

The Access Control folks here use this:

Medeco KeyLube | Anderson Lock

for both door and automotive use.

Or mix some free graphite in alcohol and use that. The alcohol will evaporate away, leaving only the graphite.

My alcohol evaporates fast enough as it is and I prefer a splash of water in it rather than graphite.

There are some dry lubricants on the market used for guns.
You could check them out. (for the lock cylinder)

thanks guys I appreciate the advice what really concerns me the most is the electronics that are involved in the key system I don't want to put anything in there that may interfere with that.the original lock cylinder is still in the car and I am very careful with it I make sure I rotate the steering wheel before turning the key to make sure it is not in a bind.

You want to use basically what came in the cylinder. If the lock originally came with graphite, use graphite. If it came with oil, use oil. Since the book says lock grease the best thing would be a little shot of white lithium grease. Many foreign cars use white lithium from the factory. It does not freeze easy and a SMALL spray of WD40 with reliquify the grease in the future. I have made a thousand dollars on Ford door locks with a small spray of WD40. People come in with the door key not working because the tumblers are stuck from dried out grease. Same for the Ford ignitions the grease gets dried out and when you turn the key to start, the ignition will not spring back and it grinds the starter. Here is my FAVORITE all around stuff, AWESOME on electronics. Check out the reviews. We use on all our electronic boards at work.
