Default Throttle Body

Hey guy's, I'm new to the forums here. Just bought my 05 Crossfire last month and I'm just taking care of some maintenance on it. I took it to the dealership had them inspect it look for any problems. They recommended I have the throttle body cleaned and I figured this was something I could do on my own. So I just have some questions; is it something fairly easy to do and what do I need to clean it with?

Wow, are they looking for work or what. Yeah, it's not a hard thing to do and will take you about 15-20 minutes if you're handy with a wrench. It's just 4 bolts, remove the venturi for the crank case breathers and get a new TB gasket from Rob at NeedsWings. Take a rag, shoot it with carb cleaner and wipe everything down. Don't spray carb cleaner directly on the TB as you can wreck the bearings in the TB by doing that. Use a few q-tips to get into the places you can't with the rag, put it back on and enjoy a beer when you're done.

Hey thanks for the info, I didn't get a chance to do it over the weekend but hopefully I can get to it soon. Thanks again!

Wow...... what dealership was that?

They are really stretching to find work. I suppose they'll want to lubricate the muffler bearings at a later date.

Hah for real, they wanted 120 bucks to clean it so I laughed and said no thanks I'll do it myself.
