ESP-BAS light on
Good morning
after having corrected the realignment of the front wheels on my 2005 XF convertible, the steering angle sensor must be recalibrated,(ESP-BAS light) on after having done 2 Chrysler garages and 2 Mercedes Benz garages, they are not able to do that, how did you do it ? I live in Alabama near Mobile.
i tried to do by my self (turn the steering full left and full right and back to the right position ,no success
thanks for your help

You need a scanner that can read the codes in each module not just the generic codes. There are specific Crossfire/Mercedes codes that can be stored in the ABS module that a generic scanner cannot read. The brake lights could work but the brake light switch can still be defective.
Also, considering work was just done around your wheel suspension be certain the wheel speed sensors are completely plugged in at the electrical connections near each wheel. There is a notch that is easily felt when plugging the connectors together and you may think they are electrically making contact, but the second notch is what you need. In other words push those connectors together to be certain they are in the proper position and contact is being made.
thanks Ronman, but the problem, here is that i dont find any garage able to do that , Mercedes and Chrysler at Mobile they dont have the software for my 2005 convertible XF, i'm on dead end, do you know a scanner able to do that ?
I could scan it for you but Im 300 miles away in northern alabama. I use a X431 but there are cheaper ones.
Code scanning a foxwell scanner would work for that. The foxwell nt510 will do that and is $189 on amazon.
The foxwell mercedes software worked best for me on the crossfire. So choose that when picking the one to go with. The chrysler software reads basic stuff but didnt handle scanning all of the modules.

If you dare go the dealership route then they do have the software on the Micropod, it will have the DRB 3 emulator and they can scan everything. Aftermarket wise you can use the Autel MD802, iCarsoft MB II or Launch crp123 (I've never used it). With the the other 2 you would read the car as a 2004 Mercedes slk320
