Xfire UK Club !!
Various suggestions have been put forward as a name for us xfire owners. Most of the regular's will be atttending this Sunday's meet, so perhaps we should discuss further then and try and make a decision. Do still post your choose before or after the meet.
UK CROSSFIRE...UKC
CROSSFIRE UK...CUK
CROSSFIRE OWNERS GROUP...COG
XFIRES UK...XUK
CROSSFIRE CAR CLUB...CCC
CROSSFIRE CAR CLUB UK...CUK
We could subtitute UK with GB?
For me CCC sounds right..it spells out just what we are....we dont need fee's, comimittee's/secretary's etc.. we coninue to use the forum for all communication's as has been previous suggested by others.
Perhaps Steve-UK's will follow up with his great idea of a Xfire rigister.
Ken.
see you all sunday..

C3 - or "C Cubed" could be an extension to Ken’s CCC. I can’t get the forum to do superscript.
CCC - as long as we don’t start wearing white hoods, we should be OK
XUK is almost symmetrical - I ike that.
Anything along the lines of "CUK" can (and no doubt will be) subverted into something rude.
I like COG as well.

Regarding our eventual chosen club name. Again just my thoughts, and perhaps something to think of for long term...I'm sure sometime in the future we will/could have a web page, ever if its just a basic page to refer crossfire owners to this site for all info etc.
Considering the above..We should make it easy for owners of crossfire cars looking on the net for a xfire club to join. They will probably open Explore and punch in Crossfre first, rather than Xfire or UK or GB.. Maybe we should bear this in mind before settling on a club name.
What do you think?
Ken.

A search engine will return results based on a web site’s contents, not the name of the club. You could call the club “Wally's Fast Car Emporium” and as long as the content and structure of the site contains references to Crossfires, and it is machine readable, you’ll get found.
The trick with SEO (search engine optimisation) is to get links in from other sites which are also about Crossfires, which improves the overall result ranking. However, Uncle Bert’s web page about Crossfires linking to the site will score less than Chrysler linking to it. This is how Google operates, and no doubt others do too (search engines are notoriously secretive about how their algorithms work).
With web sites, content is king.

Cant make it Sunday - but would like to express a preference for crossfires UK - XUK!
Just a few points on some of the others - CDU is a german political party, UKC is the abreviation used by the PT Cruiser club, and CCC usually stands for county cricket club!!!

secretary, events organizer/leader etc..we can stay just as we are, and share related tasks etc
Also it would sound more professional to others when trying to incress our numbers or print up a few flyers about our meets etc.
Your thoughts.
Do we stay as were are.
Change to a club name.
Suggestions for a diffent club title.
Or any general related thoughts
Cheers

For what it's worth I think your first suggestion of:
UK Crossfire Club "UKCC" or perhaps
UK xfire Club "UKXC" are the best .
Personally I like UKXC
Perhaps "www.ukxc.co.uk or www.ukxc.com", neither are taken at the moment.
