Default Another Crossfire Newbie!..

Hey Folks,

I just thought I'd say 'Hi' on here having just done the deal on a 2007 SRT-6 in Sapphire Silver Blue metallic.

I don't know much about the Crossfire, but I'm willing to learn and from what I can tell everything I will need to know is here.

I'm from Nottingham and have noticed the meet at Billing next weekend. If all goes to plan with collecting the car this coming week, I'll try and pop down.

Safe driving,

D.

Congrats, it's interesting to see that there are 2007 SRT-6's in Europe(only made in 2005 and a few in 2006 in USA).

Thanks Moparrbust

I'm not 100% what build year the car is, I'm only going by the registration date. I'll double check when I get the documents.

Here is the dealership picture of my car (I hope it works)...

It's interesting to hear about the build dates, my knowledge is literally non-existant at the moment (Other than that they look amazing and drive great!).

Safe driving,

D.

Thanks Steve, great to hear from you. I'm from Arnold, not at all far from Newark, practically next door!

I'm sure I'll have lots of questions once I've picked the car up, so you might wish you hadn't said that

If all goes to plan I'm going to try and get to the Billing meet on Sunday, perhaps see you there?

Cheers,

D.

I will be there Sunday, we may about 8 crossfires turning up - at least you will be able to talk to other owners!

Hope to see you there!

Hi there SRT Tulsa mann - just out of interest - here inthe UK, I see there are currently 3 used SRT's advertised here for sale which are stated as being 2007 models. But of course that will be the year of registration, and not neccesarliy year of manufacture which willprob be 2006. The Vin No's may be available, do you want me to find out?

Thanks for all the comments, I can't wait to pick the car up!

I'd love to join CICCI, so thanks for the message FP. I'll get onto that as soon as I can.

Apologies if I miss led anyone with the date of the car. It is the date of registration which is in March 2007, so I'd guess that it will be a late 2006 build. I'll double check this when I pick the car up and let you all know

Thanks to you guys, and the forum as a whole, my knowledge of the car is improving (as is my 'want list' of mods!).

I'll post some pictures on the forum when I collect the car, which all being well should be Wednesday/Thursday this week.

Safe driving,

D.

Damian, congratulations, welcome, and good luck. FYI The VIN will reveal the year built, colr etc. A decal inside the Driver's Door (US) will also show the day, month and hour.
Factory warranty 3yr 36,000 mile in US starts with the date placed in service. Check the expiration date on your tire fit. It should be replaced by warranty if expired.

Hi Damien,
hope to meet up at Billing, I'm not too far away in Lichfield. Had mine for just over 2 years and done 35,000 miles in that time, still enjoy driving it

Just a little update, I'm still waiting for the car, but will be picking it up on Friday for definate!

Since my last post I've been back to check the car and had a look at the VIN. Thanks for the tip FTroopChief!

The car was manufactured in March of 2006 but not registered on the road until a full year later!!

The last 5 digits of the VIN are '68417', I don't know how that stacks up? I read on wikicars that "only twelve 2006 SRT-6's are believed to exist, but that number is unconfirmed." Do you think my car is one of those?

I can't wait for Friday!!!!! Looking forward to meeting some of you at Billing!

Safe driving,

D.

Hi, good luck for Friday - dont be concerned about the length of time from manufacture to reistration, this seems typical, and its not unusual for any make of car. I reckon there are more than 12 srt's in the UK, theres a few guys on here got them, but most had to go to USA cos' they accidently put the steering wheel on the wrong side in some of them Hope to see you at Billing, I will be Sunday, but prob Sat as well!

Hey Lee,

Thanks for the message, these SRTs are common aren't they?

It's good to hear that there's someone so local with a similar car. I've had a quick read of your modificatons, and it all sounds very impressive. It must have an awesome soundtrack!

Sorry I've not posted sooner, you can probably all guess what I've been busy doing. I'm still thrilled with the car and had a really good time at Billing the other week meeting some of the other UK forum members.

Here are some pictures of my car..

I've done a few modifications which, whilst only minor, have made some good subtle improvements to both the exterior and interior in my opinion.

Safe driving,

D.
