I got hit from behind, I don't think the driver even saw the car behind me as I sat stationary on the road. After colliding at some speed with the car about 20 yards behind me it was then catapulted forwards and hit the rear of mine. A relatively low speed impact. I need a new rear bumper ( fender ) and a new tailpipe... ( whoppee ! I will have new shiny tail pipe !! ). The exhaust sounds bit louder and may have dislodged the baffles in the exhaust.

It all looks straight forward on the insurance. Interestingly there are no rear bumpers in the UK, or Germany ( thought they were made there ) and they are having to import one from the US, and that is going to take 5 weeks ! Does that mean I won't have a bumper any more but will have a fender instead

UPDATE : Chrysler say there are no bumpers anywhere in the world and because Karmann went bust they aren't making any at the moment and can't give me a date when they will be

 

Don't worry - the area below your boot is a bumper on both sides of the pond.

 

it is all in the wording.....lol.....bumper fender...the thing in the back....
