We would like to take the last two places for the carvery, if they are still available.
Still trying to sort out whether we can make the Saturday as well, but definately ok for the Sunday.

Consider it done!

I believe all the accommodation at the Golden Pheasant is taken but give them a ring and explain you are with the group booking. We have a table booked there for 8pm if you do make it! There is also a travel lodge literally 2 mins walk away from here, but be quick.

Dam mist the deadline for the Sunday lunch as we would only have been able to attend the Sunday. That's if there would have been two spare places at the last minute. The problem we have booking anything up in advance for us is awkward especially from the beginning to the middle of December as we are heavily printing calendars, cards etc etc at the moment which has to include some weekends to make sure we meet our deadlines for customers for Christmas. Around the middle of December things tend to calm down till January. We know this has been advertised for some time but in our situation we would not want to put our names down and not show up.
So if there are any cancellations at the last minute please let me know and if we can attend we will be there

if we do get lucky and are able to attend please excuse my car. Since it's been in my possession I have not been able to do the work this year I intended to accept for waxing the car. Basically get the wheels refurbished and bits and bobs. But the Mrs keeps scraping the wheels and makes me wonder whether to get them done as she is the main driver who uses the car on a daily basis at the moment till we get a second car again as the car has had to be used as I work horse and up till now has been reliable with no problems touch wood and yes I'm touching wood while saying this he he.

The plan was to take it off the road for a few weeks and get the wheels refurbished and bits and bobs sorted out but with having to use the car daily it has been impossible. So I am hoping perhaps next year things might get done.

It went for its MOT few weeks back and it failed on one wiper blade would you believe it and they put a advisory saying that the two front bearings have got slight play and want £188 for the privilege of putting it right. This used to be a Chrysler main dealer but now deal with other makes and have Chrysler mechanics and diagnostics tools etc. that's why the car went there in the first place plus it's a stones throw away from home. An old musician – friend of mine who works for the main Mercedes Benz dealership in Birmingham told me even Mercedes would not have charged that much to do the bearings .

I see there has been comments on here about people having rust. Yes this car has the usual tailgate rust. while looking at crossfires last year I never saw one without it on the 7 cars I saw. So whether they were bad examples at the time who knows and did not know about this forum to get some help at the time as normally forums aren't the place people first look at getting cars. But when the startech 3.8 S came up for sale there was not much choice in finding another one with the same spec as this is the only one in the UK as some of you are aware of and I didn't intend to be put off by the tailgate as the standard crossfires that I'd seen had all looked the same on the tailgate .

I caught the MOT guy parking my car after the MOT in there customer parking bay. I asked if everything was all right he said it's one of the best examples he's seen underneath the car . Me knowing nothing about cars too much. I said what do you mean? He said a lot of crossfires his seen normally always have rust underneath and this garage tend to only sell the later cars. I never thought people had rust problems underneath and assured me he'd seen and worked on crossfires for years .

Anyway if there are any last minute cancellations please let us know as this would have been ideal as we only live in Worcestershire and most of the meets seem to be down south and London way. Which are impossible for us to get to due to various commitments

Anyway folks that's the info of what's being happening around here lately

Mark, this is a bit off subject, I know but I thought it was worth mentioning that I just got a new boot under the corosion warranty. Mine's an '06 roadster. They took a few photos and had the go-ahead in a few days from Chrysler (or Fiat) had it 2 days - brilliant! Only thing is the CROSSFIRE lettering is on back order from America so I hope I will be forgiven for her nakedness at the meet lol

It's worth checking out you know. They can only say 'no' and what have you lost? They offered me a courtesy car aswell but hey only had it 2 days. I do think somebdy took it home, though, for a spin looking at milage, seat alterations, change of radio station and filthy state of car when I went to pick it up - beware Hatfields of Bury people! However, I have a new boot so I'm happy; or will be when it's got it's name badge!

Hi rowanbud it's great news you've got yourself sorted out in such a quick time considering the long wait for parts for these cars. Did they fit a new one and give you the old one back as a spare to sort out yourself if you ever need to or did they just refurbish the one you had?. And thank you for your information but My car is a 2004 and I think the corrosion warranty was for only six years if that's right? But somebody here will probably be able to confirm that

So I'm probably out of luck. I think if you don't garage your car and it's left outside they do tend to gather water down in the tailgate .when opening as I've noticed when not used for a few days. But most days the tailgate is opened a few times each day because of using the car for a few deliveries we have to make for our printing business. So I don't think it does the tailgate any favours leaving it closed without opening it for too long so I tend to open mine if we haven't used the car for a few days to clear any water that might be gathering down there.

Funny you mention Hatfields I'd been dealing with them in Worcester for the last three years as they are the main Jaguar dealer in the region now as I have been driving Jaguars for over the last 10 years before I purchased the crossfire. Before Hatfields it was H.A Fox and they moved out of town and Hatfields took over so between H.A Fox and Hatfields I've been dealing with these people for over 10 years but majority of the staff from H.A Fox moved over to the Hatfields premises.
And to be honest the customer service was just as good and I thought Hadfields prices were lower than H.A Fox but as we know not all dealerships from the same company have the same customer service from dealership to dealership.

Hi Mark,
They put a brand new boot on but used the furniture off my old one - motor for spoiler etc. I didn't ask for the old one because it was just the rusty shell. I've taken to wiping around the inside lip to keep it dry as you're right, water & condensation gathers there. It's just a bit of dodgy design, unfortunately. Good luck with yours - is it 6 or 7 year corrosion warranty?

Sadly the Cotswolds is known for some bleak weather..We had parents living in Stow on the Wold and had a few really snowy trips to visit them over Christmas..

I think Eric (Bamp) will confirm the above. That said, lets hope for a cold clear day.

Cheerful UK Ken.

Chris...I've no need to! The first round at every Christmas lunch meet is always down to an owner who has never attender a xfire December lunch before....Steve and I have, on two occasions.

How many times have you attended?

UKKen.
