To the OP, you'd be better off with a set of replacement K&N drop-in filters if you're looking for performance gains. As for looks, well this does a decent job of blingin' up the engine bay but at the expense of performance.

Thanks...that wouldn't be my cup of tea.....but it looks pretty....if you want more HP...you need to look at a Needswings or the MB's that take their air a little further out front...you are sucking hot air with these...

Wow, that is a lot of money to pay to reduce your HP. Good luck with that. It should sound better though, so maybe you will think it is faster. Hot Air Intakes = less HP

You purchased it after ignoring the opinions that you asked for, why did you ask in the first place? Did you get that power chip as well?
Youth is wasted on the young, but I guess I was like that once. I can only guess as it was a long time ago and I have forgotten.

Your opinions are just, well, opinions. If the guy wants to make his car look cool, then good on him for being an enthusiast

Like your opinions they are worth a pinch of you know what in the end.
He asked about a chip to improve performance and then adds something to reduce performance and is convinced he's improved pick up.
It would have been cheaper to buy the chip and I'm sure he would have seen much more power and scared the you know what out of himself.
I'll leave it to others to answer his queries in future.

Oh dear, some argumentative people on here i see.

Well i listeneed to your opionions, but overall wanted to try it out for myself.
And its a great kit, very pleased.

I read about the chips etc, and obviously now know it can't be chipped. But i may get an ECU map, which can be done.

Thanks

your car mate you do what you like to it, i used to have a PTcruiser vert that i spent thousands on customising the bodywork, interior, wheels, exhaust and engine bay didnt make it go any faster but it sure looked and sounded good and won me a few awards, be good to see you and your xfire at a ukxfire meet sometime next year...chris

Not argumentive my friend, knowledgeable answers to your questions. What you have done is moved your air intake from the forced, cooler air in front or the radiator to the hot air in your engine compartment. The stock, Needswings and TVT intakes all pick up their air, forced air, in front of the radiator or in the wheelwell. So while it looks cool, perhaps sounds cool, its counterproductive performance wise. You asked the question and them is the facts.

Not really argumentative, just have different priorities. I like cosmetic changes just like everyone else but for me performance comes first. You bumped up against a few of the performance oriented members. Daimler/Chrysler did a good job sealing the engine compartment so it does get real hot under the hood. It also helps keep it clean.

I do not know many 'enthusiasts' that would pay to have the performance of a sports car diminished.

I hate to point this out but some people would pay to put 20" chrome rims that weigh double the stock ones "to have the performance of a sports car diminished." Including a few enthusiasts on this forum. However, I would never put that intake on my car or 20" boat anchors on all four corners either. Just sayin. So lets live and let live.

Very true, but some enthusiasts would actually take the time to find 20" chrome rims within a few lbs of the OEM ones so as to realize the aesthetic benefits of the modification, while reducing the performance of the car less than simply turning on the AC would
