there are lots of drivers in the US that have NO business driving.

Why oh why have we not updated the requirements to get a DL.

Like:
How to utilize acceleration and deceleration lanes.
Engage the turn signal before the brakes but not three intersections before.
Get into the turn lane before the solid line.
Keep right except to pass at least on Intrastates.
Turn the headlights on when appropriate. We begin loosing are night vision around the age of 45.
How to drive in the rain.

And if I were king, a high school diploma would be required to drive or vote.

I think I will send this list to the NCDOT so add your comments.

Additions :

At least one working tail light and one working brake light ( doesn't have to be the same one - that would be too much trouble )
the above applies to all the pulp-wood trucks here in Alabama.

at least 1/128 " tread on the tires ( applies same as above )

mud removed from working lights ( front & rear )

an IQ above 25

I think that requirement alone would get half the drivers of the road here and that includes me.
