Default Fuses

Hi - need a little guidance - both front and rear nearside side lights are out - bulb failure lit - guess its a fuse (No 10) just where is the pesky fuse box - say passenger side in handbook but shows a left hand drive (I think)?

Thanks Tony

Open the drivers door and there is a panel held on by two large plastic screws. use a 2p piece to turn but be careful they fall out and invariably roll under the car. Under the panel is the interior fuse box.

Thanks for the info - found it and naturally its the opposite to the handbook with fuse 1 at top right not top left. Fuse 10 checked and OK but noticed some corrosion on blade so used multiple insertions (!) to clean up and lo we have light

Glad you sorted the problem. I would check other fuses to see if any more corrosion is present. you may have a leak on the seals around the windows. I use something called "Gummifledge" which the SLK guys use which for want of a better phrase re-hydrates the seal and prevents leaks.

Very happy that you are finding the forum so useful. Next you'll be starting the mods, but beware it can become an obsession. I have done a few and only had the car since beginning of december 2011. Had the SLK320 before that and pulled loads of parts before I px'd it. Parts are just so interchangeable.

Whereabouts are you in the UK, your profile gives no clues, maybe someone more knowledgeable than me is close to you, who can be your guru
