Spare Key
Nice find...please let us know the results (if you bought one through them).
Thanks.
I think you might find that if you are in St Cats Ontario and you try to order a key for a UK based Crossfire that it is even more difficult to get a key
Using a dealer is to be avoided if possible, they will get it and then mark it up by at least 50% and swear they are doing you a favour.
I then involved Chrysler UK who have sorted out the mechanism to get a key in UK. Even so you need log book, proof of ownership, ID (passport) mileage and need to see car.
So I ordered a key from the dealer recommended by Chrysler on 16th November and left it with them.
Forgot about it over the holiday in Switzerland (Crossfire @ home in UK) then yesterday checked with dealer and key has arrived.
Went and collected brand spanking key with note how to program - easy - and now have 2 keys to Crossfire

Next item service & MOT current quote for both less than the key cost!!

Good news Robskytoon on getting a replacement key
Did you just contact a local Chrysler dealer or do you have a contact number you could give me so that I can hopefully get a spare key too?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi I involved Chrysler and they recommended the garage closest to me which is Knowle Hill Garage near Maidenhead 01628 519800 but any Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealer should be able to help - if your local is difficult I can look up the Chrysler number for you. You will need to visit garage with Proof of Ownership ID etc and take car too don't let them charge for programming it's so easy to do insert key into ignition don't turn - press either of buttons twice then turn key to run (not start) turn back take out then use - all I did
Just pleased I can help out
I will admit it's been a bit harrowing not having the spare key and worried about locking the only one in boot somehow but now (it will still matter but not the issue it was)

does that include programing?
You can only lock the driver side door while one key is in the ignition in the accessory or on position and using another key to lock the driver side door manually - key turned in lock, the passenger side door and the trunk remain unlocked.
The security system remains off.
It will lock normally using another key with the other key just sitting unturned in the ignition.
The final programing of the key you can do yourself following the instructions in post #31 or the stealership may charge you an exorbitant fee to do the same thing.
My Chevy is a smart car too but if you are really clever (stupid) you can lock key in boot - thing is when you only have the one key you get paranoid over it, when you have a spare you can experiment.
My dealer is a good dealer as they gave me a copy of programming instructions so I could try myself first

Nevermind! Hadn't finished reading the thread! If I wanted to order one from Needswings, how would I do it?
