Re: Spare Key
Why not try a local MERC specialist.
Ask if they are programmed using STAR

Re: Spare Key
So having only had 1 key since Feb and the previous owner not replying decided to bite bullet and contact a dealer - 1st try MB dealer no joy tried Chrysler dealer locally again no joy, then rang dealer that said he could supply 6 months ago - he is also definite that cannot get me a key! when is a Chrysler dealer not a Chrysler dealer. That's the bad news but there maybe a solution (sell car did I hear) I spoke to an auto locksmith who says he can supply me a non remote transponder key to open door & start car - waiting on quote will keep you all updated
Re: Spare Key
I bought my car back in July from a local Chrysler dealer. It only had one key, so part of the deal was they supply a second key (and get the headliner fixed). It took me 2 months and one day to receive my new key. I was told they had to send the key off to Mercedes (which took 2 weeks) once they finally located one. I didn't complain about the time it took, since I was paying for it. I just couldn't believe it took that long to find it, then program it. When I got it, the door locks didn't work. Found the programming on here.
The plastic and rubber on the original is in pretty rough shape. I'm considering one of the new all black cases I've seen on ebay. Don't really care for the little Chrysler logo on the back anyway. I always mistake it for the lock button when in my pocket.

Re: Spare Key
I just got a new key. $159. Takes about two weeks. You may have to run this simple procedure.
Chrysler Crossfire Flipkey Starts Engine But Remote Doesn't Work
Keyless Entry Remotes, Car Remote Replacements, Key Fobs, Keys, &more!

Re: Spare Key
The key worked flawlessly. Just took a moment to run the sync steps. Actually comes from Chrysler. The address on the UPS package is:
Martin Harris Brubaker Chrysler Jeep, 1020-60 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601 Its at the corner of state route 72, Looks like a regular dealership. Very odd. Bill
More info: It appears that some larger Chrysler dealers still have a Mercedes link. They continue to sell a Mercedes SUV and can get the keys. My local dealer seemed to know this but didn't say anything until I showed him howI got my key. Nice.
