Parts availability
Hi, I've had a Crossfire for the last three years, and I'd like to hang on to it for a lot longer. But in order to pass the MoT my garage has had to order a suspension spring from Italy. There wasn't one available in the UK, and you can't order one from Mercedes unless you have one of their cars. Is there a shortage of Chrysler parts, and is it possible to get hold of Mercedes parts where they can be used? I'd be grateful for any advice.

Just do not let him see the Crossfire sitting in the car park or you might get rudely shown or thrown through the door.
hi tim have you tried these people they always have a crossfire or two that they are breaking...best of luck...chris..... www.chryslerbreakers.co.uk
That misconception has been around for years.
I"m sure if you ask real nicely, the new owner of the Karmann Plant will gladly stamp out anything you need.
Well, I think it was 5 years, but when supplies are gone, they are gone...for you, I would check the local breaker yard as suggested...get to know them really well...
I think that different rules apply here in the EU to the US and I have to admit that 10years also rings a bell with me
Daimler/Chrysler no longer exists. > Assets sold to Cerebus. > Cerebus enters bankruptcy. > Old car company and New car company formed. > Old car company assumes ownership of any liabilities or any bad stuff from all years previous. New car company exists bankruptcy with ownership of all assets, and a clean slate. > New car company eventually clears all bankruptcy hurdles and transforms into todays Fiat/Chrysler company structure.
Throw the bankruptcy of Karmen into the picture where all of your records, supplier info, stamping molds, etc., existed and are now gone, who are you going to turn to? Old car company would be the responsible corporate entity, but they have no assets.
The vehicle is a dead vehicle. There are very limited quantities of left over new Crossfire specific parts. MB mechanical parts are available, but Crossfire specific parts are few and far between. This is why they are so easily totaled by insurance companies.
I had an SLk320 previously and if I need any mechanical parts I just quote its REg any hey presto parts are no problem. Euro car parts have most bits I've ever needed. If you need a reg just look on Autotrader or Ebay for one
Yes, 10 years is the given norm, but who is responsible?

Dave, that is exactly why we need to support "The Crossfire Shop". MrMoPar has stepped up, and we need him to be successful. Because he may be the only source of parts in a few more years.
