Why do you want to change it?

Its in there for the life of the car - or 100,000 miles I belive. Waste of time and money. It has been disturbing to see over last few years, the number garages telling owners it must be changed at service!

Hello there, the 6 speed manual box works fine when driving normal even when i give it a bit more its ok.

But when booting it , it crunches when i go from 2nd into 3rd it wont go into 3rd unless i slow down a bit so was thinking an oil change might help with the gear change. But to be honest i think it could be an expensive fix . But when driving normally and with a bit of welly all is ok , but when pushed a bit more 3rd gear is a problem.nic

Does anyone know of a garage in the south of england who has experience of these gearboxes , could it be the gearbox linkage needs adjusting ?

Sorry, but check the fluid at 50K and tell me it isn't well past the point of needing to be replaced.

I have done both my 6 speeds with mobile1 around the 50K mark and have been pleasantly surprised with a little less notchy gearbox, and miles smoother shifts.

Cheers!

Mmmm I see! oil change may help but to be honest I would think there is something wrong with either the selector or the 3 gear cog its self. or is it just the nature of the beast?? the manual boxes are not renound for being the best in the world.

Give Terry a ring at Mid Kent Chrysler 01634819774 he will be more than happy to give you advice over the phone.
