Looking at this in the weekend
Opinions please
Chrysler Crossfire 3.2 V6 2DR AUTO-FULL SERVICE HISTORY 2004
The tyres are budget brand which have had mixed reviews. I know its been at this dealer for at least two months so apart from the usual, and checking the electric seats what else should I look for? Also i'm going to try and knock the proce down if I want it, what would be reasonable?

If it's not to far away I'd go and look at it, if only to discount it if it's not what you're looking for. At the mileage you MUST buy on condition and history. The mileage is less than 10k per year so it's not high for a 8 year old car. If this is your budget go and have a look, what you got to loose? Look at all the normal things you would on any car, EG for paintwork and more importantly panel repairs, Check everything works, check the underside of the tailgate for rust and also make sure there is no water in the boot compartment. Fold the door mirrors and see if the bolts are rusty, if they are it's likely to be worse underneath. Check who has done the servicing and when has it been done (mileage or time). And most importantly take someone with you who does not have a vested interest in the car, someone you can trust to tell you it's a dog if it really is beyond the rose tinted glasses. Also what warranty will it come with and who is it underwritten by?
Cheers Dal, very helpful. I will be taking my dad so don't worry he has done this a lot before so drives a hard bargain
But thanks for the pointers I will let you know how I get on

82K is nothing to these motors IF it has been looked after! lets face it, you could find a nice looking 25K example and it has been abused all it's life!! I know which one I would buy
Don't get too hung up on mileage and be prepared to travel to get a good one.
Must admit the one you are going to look at is about £500 or so over the mark, but haggle,if it were me, straight in with me size 10's and offer 2500!!! you never know could get yourself a bargain

Yes I agree with Mo, these engines are bullit proof if well maintained and must admit Im a bit too fussy about mileage. But Id also listen for rattling from the cats when you start it up and look at brake disks and of course tyres! Having to replace tyres can kill what you thought was a good deal. If you like it have a haggle as I reckon this is 500 to 750 too much ££ good luck!

Hi All,
Went to look at this yesterday and it barked at me as I walked towards it! Still you don't know till you look.
It had a number of stonechips, some of which were huge and had been touched up with a brush, there was a deep scratch/dent on the n/s that the dealer said he would buff out if I wanted (why not buff it before?!). The tailgate and wing mirror bolts were ok but one rear arch had some deep rust bubbles. The wheels were AWFUL. All 4 were kerbed and also rotten.
The FSH was a pile of invoices done by lots of different garages and you could tell the car looked 'tired'. I considered offering £2500 but then took it for a drive, it was sluggish (both engine and chassis-wise) compared to another one I tested and just wasn't fun to drive. Further more, it pulled heavily to the right, especially when cold and given i found a reciept for a o/s/f suspension joint and steering arm it makes me wonder if it had whacked a kerb (and hard)..he then offered me warranties, tax etc but I walked away. Thanks for your help.
So, the search continues
