Default Right hand drive Xfire import?

As some of you know I'm looking to change from my Roadster to a Coupe.

During this search I've noticed that a few UK spec right hand drive xfires have the battery located on the offside of the engine bay, not the nearside as is usual. Are these imported xfires?

As I recall the foot brake is usual placed directly behind the servo air unit. So having it on the otherside of a right hand drive vehicle is very strange. I'm certain someone out there will have the answe?

UKKen. ish

Mo, Very tempted I looked at this SRT6 a few weeks back. But still prefer the standard xfire, thanks for the nod.

Any more thoughts on arranging a Sourthern xfire meet as mentioned in an earlier post?

Noticed this when it first appeared. If it's as good as it looks, I can't believe it hasn't been snapped up already. I thought mine was a good deal a few months ago - at a grand more - same colour, age & mileage!
Someone should buy this car - quickly!

I'm surprised that there has been little interest and no answers to the above question?

Ken,
There are lots of pictures of engine bays on the American forum, some of these have batteries positioned on the left and some are on the right. Mo may be correct in saying it could be year of manufacture. Perhaps if you ask the same question on the American forum somebody will know the answer.

Colin.

I cannot see how the brake master cylinder could be separated from the vacuum unit as it is an integral part of the assembly. So this must be a misconception.

I have never seen a US configured Crossfire photo where the battery is on the driver side as mentioned in the post by colsan. Have I missed all these oddballs? I doubt it.

Pictures or it did not happen.

Gentlemen ( Ladies ) :
This is one of the easiest thing to photoshop, the old mirror image flip.
Most likely the dealer inadvertently flipped that photo.

My engine bay :

My engine bay :
If he flipped the picture then the original engine is a complete reverse of what we have, basically the engine would have a mirror image of our serpentine belt layout and all that entails.

Good point. Then that must be a picture of an engine in a LH drive car they posted without thinking anyone would notice ........

Yes, I Agree it is not a picture of the engine bay on the car that is advertised, infact its not even a black one, look at the suspension turrets looks to be SSB to me, now I know this is the best colour but is one step to far to try to pass it off as your own vehicle

Steve..Well spotted. I'm still looking for the right Coupe, if not found, by April 2013, then its the Roadster for the Laon trip.

Ken.

I think it is a stock photo that was put out here when the Crossfire came out. That engine cover is not standard here and is for a pre-production model I'm guessing.

I have just found another picture with that air box in it. It was in the early advertising literature.

Hi All

Remember this post? Lots of verious views were posted on the reverse engine layout and mixed suggestions. The vehicle I first noticed that the engine layout was back to front has I'm pleased to say, surfaced again.

Have a look on Trader its a 2006 Black Crossfire Coupe and also note the seat texture and finish...very strange..any more thoughs?

I still think its a US import with a right hand drive conversation.

UKKen.

Then they have changed the front console as well, the passenger foot well outlet for the heater is where one would expect it to be on a RH drive car.
I think this is a collection of pictures, his car (maybe), an RH drive SRT and a US LH drive under hood photo.
With the brake master cylinder where it is I think any mods would be pretty extensive and as such in my mind very doubtful. I would not trust this seller far at all.
