well I've just decided that a few days of autoroutes and bahnen is just right for this time of year so to that end I'll be hoping on the 06.00ish Chunnel on Saturday morning then it'll be 4 days of driving until a late pm return on Tuesday evening - not sure of the exact itinerary but I am giving serious thought to a little Czech excursion as well (Prague may be a little far to travel but from memory Carlsbad is well worth a visit - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karlovy_Vary)

Head down to Prum, then on to Cochem, follow the Mossel to Barden Barden for the mecca of German driving roads the B500 traction control off and play!!!!! then into the Alps! so many ways to go

this time it'll be slightly restricted time-wise so the (current) plan is to drive to:

Fussen and see the 2nd of mad king Ludwig's castles
Bayreuth visit relys
(possibly) Carlsbad

If I manage to do the Fussen leg (11hours) in one hit then Carlsbad should be doable the whole trip should be 1,800 miles or so
