Always someone suggests its easy - its not - the only way is to go to a Chrysler dealer and order one that's if they know how you will need proof of ownership, logbook, about £200 and patience takes about 6 weeks. If the dealer doesn't know how you will have to talk to Chrysler UK - I have a number. I tried lots of locksmiths etc before I went this route but have a brand new fully working key and a spare. If you just want a blade to unlock no doubt you can get one but won't start car and will set off alarm.

Thanks Robskytoon..I have read the Ebay keys and other 'Easy solutions' but knew that wouldn't be easy, I was told that they can only do it from the actual car but the American Sports tuner says they can do it with just the Vin, if you have the number in the UK I might give them a call from here..Cheers

Rob at Needswings says he can get you one shipped to the UK for US$160 and that beats £169 any day.
This was covered in a previous thread.

I looked at that option as well doesn't work as they have to provide proof of ownership etc in US and VIN number is a giveaway that its a UK vehicle. I tried for almost 10 months before I went the official route
Chrysler 01753 511431 customer care on option 2 James was customer care manager who gave me a case number and followed it through with my nominated garage until key was delivered.
You decide - I have a key took 6 weeks over christmas

By the way you might want to read carefully the Needswings site if you have a UK spec car the price is $319.99 + shipping a lot more than I paid in £

extract from site
Technical Specs
This is a brand new Switchblade Remote Key for the 2004-2008 Chrysler Crossfire. We will need your VIN number and exact miles when you check out so we can order it for you. It takes about 2 weeks to receive it. When it arrives it will work right out of the box - you won't need to do any programming.

Don't order if you haven't read these 3 important points:
You will need to email proof of ownership (scan a copy of your license and registration) to help@remotesandkeys.com after you pay. Please include a picture of the dashboard of your car clearly showing the mileage in the email you send to help@remotesandkeys.com.
Note: The shipping address details must match the person and address on documentation or we will not process the order. It is important for us to be sure we are sending a working remote key to the registered owner of the car. Example of what we don't want to see: Husband orders remote to be shipped to his name. Documentation shows wife is registered owner of car. Only the registered owner of the car should place the order. Shipping name and address must be that of the registered owner.
If you can't give us the exact mileage we can't process your order. In that case we'd suggest contacting your local Chrysler Dealer.
(Note: This is for Crossfire's built for the US market. If you have a Crossfire built for outside the US the price is $319.99 plus international shipping.)

Oops! Sorry, I just read his last thread on the matter. But they do seem costly there.

I left the UK in 1964 and I was earning about £22 a week as a toolmaker, so when I see 160 odd quid for a flaming key I am shocked. I know prices have risen but ...........

Wait a few years and with those UK Crossfire prices you'll be able to buy a key with a car on the end.

Well surprise, surprise, this is the latest from Needswing in the US, seems to good to be true, am I missing something..!!!..My local Chrysler dealer wants $500.00 + $150.00 to code it..we sure get ripped off over here

Hello, yes we can get a replacement key for you, they run $150 plus shipping, shipping options below….
$60 for 3-5 day
$26 for 6-10 day

We would need a current copy of your driver’s license and the vehicle registration in order to submit the order to Chrysler and it must ship to that address. You can send over a picture of those and I can send over an invoice through paypal to get this going. It takes 3 days for the key to be made and to us before we can ship it out to you.
Thanks, Rob

Not in Coventry anymore but that dealer was another I tried when visiting friends in area now live in South, didn't appreciate you were in Oz, that might complicate getting key I guess as the dealer I used had to see car as well!

Best of luck
