Default My new SRT

Well picked up my SRT today, very impressed with it, auto nice and smooth, will have to get used to the split second wait for power when in auto i am not used to that, i had a nice ride back from doncaster and was behind an evo x but didnt have much petrol so couldnt play as i was needing a shell or tesco for the 98 ron but had to settle for £25 worth of BP 97 ron as dont like using under 98, so only £25 went in, body work is in really good condition with one or two little marks but only see when you look for them, wheels have one or two marks but i will refurb those, i will try and get a few pictures on when i have cleaned it, so any links to mods and reputable people

Glad you are pleased with it you may find you need to reset the throttle, that will help with that little delay! also no need for 98, Merc recommend 95 for the c32 motor and at the end of the day the real time difference is absolutely diddly squat!!!!

enjoy!!

Perform a throttle reset.
1. Turn the key to the on (not start) position, the position just before the starter turns over.
2. Press the gas pedal to the floor with the key in the "on" position.
3. Hold the pedal to the floor for five seconds, then turn the key back to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal.
4. Don’t remove the Key. Wait 2 mins. for a full alignment.

You will notice a difference when you do it.
you will always get a hesitation with an auto.

Are you talking about on take off, or between shifts... The lag on take off can be cured with a device called a "sprint booster". You will then get instant throttle. The lag between shift can somewhat be cured, although not completely, by doing the throttle reset a few times, then drive it like you stole it, so the ECU will learn you like to drive more aggressive. The ECU actually learns your driving style. You can also unhook the positive cable on the battery to reset as well...kind of like rebooting a computer...

Check out the "sprint booster". There are threads about it, or someone may even have one for sale. Not sure where to buy them now, maybe someone else has that info. The member selling those became ill and has not been back here.

Well, it is pretty easy, although some have a problem getting a washer out of the hold down on the throttle peddle. This device goes "inline" between the throttle pedal, and throttle sensor. It means you have to take the throttle pedal lose, and plug it in line, re-attach throttle pedal. Do a throttle reset until the lag goes away. There were 3 models available. 1 for regular aspirated XF stick, another for auto, and another which is selectable. Normal driving, aggressive driving...they work on the SRT. So, if you can fit yourself down under the steering wheel, you shouldn't have a problem...I can't do that as well as I did a few yrs ago...

Inside the filler flap you should have a recommended fuel sticker and it says 95 I have 2 SRT-6's both run quite happily on 95. I don't know of anyone that runs 98, at 6/8p per litre more than 95 (London prices) for next to no benefit???? no brainer really. There will always be some that listen to the fuel companies hype and buy it

for bits and pieces here in the UK we are restricted to ebay second hand stuff can be got from ACD in Lancashire, Chrysler breakers, but you wont get anything unique to the SRT-6 from there as they have never broken one. Always worth asking on here.

anyway, lets see some pics of your new toy!!!!
