Reading Error Codes
Hi guys,
My Engine warning lamp just came on. The car is driving fine. I've found a lot of posts on Error Codes but not how to read them. Is there a key turn sequence that displays the code?
Can I reset the lamp, it case it was just something minor like the fuel cap?
Cheers
David

You need an OBDC II code scanner or a UltraGuage to read / reset the codes.
( or be REALLY stupid and take it to a dealer )
Here in the colonies, AutoZone or Advance will read them for you at no cost.

I've been quite deep into this (see http://padgett.performanceresearch.us/cars/obd2/obd2.htm ) but if you have a smart phone or tab running Android, by far the cheapest and most effective is the Torque Pro app on the play store. You will also need an OBD-II dongle and I bought a mini that just lives in the car.
Under U$20. for both.
