Help - New Owner
Over 80k miles on my 6 spd. And only time I have a problem shifting is if I run 1st gear 4000 rpm or more. 3500 rpm then shift works great. Before I bought mine I had 2 different mercedes technicians tell me the auto was not worth buying
Yep - It was a great surprise to see the car on the market after regretting letting it go a year ago, so had to act quickly. Not many miles added either. I'm just doing a few improvements to get tip-top. Main jobs are some fresh paint here and there, filling holes left by parking sensors, having all the screw holes filled in front bumper to make it factory fresh, fitting a full set of Brembo Brake Disk and Red Stuff Pads, stainless lower front grill etc etc.

Not an SRT but worth a look - cheap and low miles...?

But seriously, whining at 49k?? - not very likely - poss. a pulley bearing...?
Think more the issue is the ginormous drop in revs from first to second when pushing e.g. 4500 in first (24 mph) is 2600 in 2nd, nearly a 50% drop. No tranny likes that. If I want to go fast, I start in 2nd which is a lower gear than 1st in my Judge.
Also nothing wrong with the automagic trans. I have the same trans in my 4400 lb Jeep that pulls my 3500 lb trailer and has a lifetime warrenty.
In fact both Crossie transmissions turned up in Jeeps, same six speed in the Wrangler. (Where a granny first makes a lot more sense).
