Hi all, I am on a limited budget but ideally after a Crossfire Coupe in the UK around £2k. I'm based in London/Bucks. The only real criteria for me is a decent stereo, was there a better option from new or should I plan to upgrade and if so what have people done with head units/speakers? I can travel for the right car. Thank you
Thanks but not quite sure what you mean, is it a sarcastic response implying my budget is too low or are they so plentiful that there is no real enthusiast scene?
You are quite right, tons on Autotrader between 2k -3k but knowing absolutely nothing about these I would prefer to buy from an enthusiast rather than take a complete stab in the dark.
Apologies I wasn’t trying to be at all and I see your point, my car no has 82k on the clock and is very reliable so could confidently sell it to a neighbour knowing there won’t be any issues.
I purchased mine with approximately 32k on the clock and it all seemed to check out so went for it. This is my second XF and there will always be things you’ve gotta do to get them just right.
Even when it’s perfect you will want it to your taste.
Rust on the arches is a common problem especially the rear, you have to remember that the car could be 16 years old. mine is a 2003. One thing to think of is that if you have rust then it has not been covered up for it to become a problem in the future. Also check the underside of the doors, around the trunk lock and on the inner wings just behind the headlights.
You cannot getmuch more German than Mercedes Benz or Karmann. In the Uk I have seen a lot of cars which are a lot younger than 16 years - 11 years (2003 - 2008). It is the climate and the salt.
