Talking Looking for a few bad actors, tanks for looking

Work on the failed IC units is leading me in a new direction. Iam believing that the parallel (one path water circuit ) may be better than the stock approach - - WITH SEPARATED H/E circuits.

I would greatly appreciate getting info from all who have had leaking I/Cs to let me know the age in years that they have had a leaky I/c. This will help me formulate an approximate failure rate.'

Subsequentially, I am also on a quest to collect all the failed ones that I can get for study and evaluation. Should you have a dead one, please consider shipping it to me, Ill pay the postage costs. This could lead to a better design and power output due to better IAT cooling.

If you send me one, I would LIKE TO ASK THAT YOU DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN IT UP, so that I can measure the relative restriction and study the line of CRUD.

You can PM me or respond to this posting, if I get a meaningful sample, I ll share the results with the group.

Woody WEEKEND

2003 car, bought in early 2011 with only 24k on the odometer. IC was leaking and appears to have been for quite some time.

I cut it apart to see if it was repairable and cut too close and got into the fins. It's a mess now and would have additional leaks.

Rob is sending me a new intercooler and when I swap them out I'll send you my old one. It's been leaking since new as best I can tell.

I bought the car new in july 2008 with 60 miles. I pulled the manifolds in february of 2010 and found the goo. I've had them off quite a few times since and the heaviest concentration of goo was the first time I pulled them off.
