Good day Arizona

I will be in the carefree/scottsdale area from oct 8th through the 10th, down from Colorado. Anyone out there have anything going on? I will be in meetings in the mornings, but should be free in the evening time. Would love to get together with a few other members. Feel free to drop me a line.

Unfortunately I'll be out of town during that time.

I've been on the lookout for a gtg. Hopefully one will happen this fall while the weather is nice.

BC, I will be in Mexico that time slot. The Arizonian's are setting up
a GTG on November 3rd. If you go to the other forum, they are just
getting things organized. We do have someone coming down from
Colorado.

I got a roadster!! I'm a hardtop fan, never been into convertibles at least not yet. It's a blast and I love it. It's my first mopar or should I say Mercedes.
I do want to know when the Oak Creek run is. I'm taking my car back in to get the repair and trim replaced that they nicked servicing my car, and I don't want to miss the run. Thanks and look forward to seeing you all soon at a cruise.

Here is the thread on the AZ hook-up roncosrt6 is talking about. But, if you read through the posts, it seems like
the organizer of the run really doesn't want anyone from this forum to participate, UNLESS they're part of the clan
on the other site too...

Yeah, they tend to be a tad clickish over there. Since the rift a few years ago,
they stay by themselves in their own little world. However, they are pretty active in
putting together meets in the southwest as they were when they were on this
board.

I guess they still haven't let by-gones be by-gones. Their leader is pretty set in her
ways not to have anything to do with this forum...

What is the difference if your from here or there. Don't you own a crossfire? Especially if your in AZ. I'm actually heading to the track that day, but I'm trying to meet them at the start. Most of us didn't even own Crossfires a year ago, so whatever between them doesn't prevent us from being on both boards. I think it would be your loss if you didn't go. There won't be any other people setting up hookups in AZ, unless you do. This board is by far more active, but that one is almost AZ specific, and the invite was to all with crossfires if your on here and there. I actually found that board first, then this one. They are both an asset to our crossfires. It's about meeting other owners. Look forward to meeting you RoncosrSRT6. SteveWRX why don't you come to the track with me if you don't go to the hookup. It's $45 to race.

Congrats and welcome to both forums. Be sure to post your VIN number in that page. RoncoSRT6 is also from Tempe along with a few others. You can see the hookup for this weekend at www.crossfirecommunity.net .

I ended up staying an extra day in Vegas for the SEMA show and did not get back until Saturday so I could not make the meet or race.

Crusinquick, Where do you race at? I might want to go next time.

At www.speedworldmotorplex.com , it's on the west side. Firebird raceway would be closer if your on the east side. Speedworld usually has open races on Friday and Saturday nights.

I put a thread on the SRT thread titled Track Times with details. I ran a 13.5, but it was 90 degrees out. I think in a few weeks when we cool down it should be better. Some guys on the Mercedes Benz forum that were there said their cars were running .4 to .5 slower than normal. So that would have put me a low 13. I'm still pleased with this time, since it was with my worst reaction time(.707). Ironically with my best reaction time (.023), I spun the tires and posted a 14.06, but still beat a porsche cayman. The launch is key with these cars. I braked and revved up to about 2,500 - 3,000 rpm and rolled a millisecond and punched it.

See you out there. I'll try to remember to send you a message the next time I go out. It was a first for me, and was a blast. I have a few old chevys and love to fix them up, but have never raced them. They are usually more show then go. That's what I love about this car, no one expects it to run how fast it does. I had a few guys come after a run and wanted me to open the hood to see what I've done to it. Sorry guys it's all stock. They were surprised.

Sounds like great fun! I live on the west side so speedworld would work for me. I have never raced on a track before so I will be the rookie next time. Please let me know when you are going again as I am definately game.

Be sure to start looking for a helmet. Once you run faster than a 13.99 which you will, they won't let you run again without a helmet. I just borrowed one for the day. It has to be Snell rated. Most Bell helmets have the snell rating.

Comment on both forums.
I'm a hybrid. Love both sites. All people here are excellent.
I wouldn't consider clickish, IMO. I believe CJ & T wanted to keep
small because their first organized effort. I could be way wrong
though. We want to get the most XF together we possible can.
The only way to do that is to include both sites. AZ roads were
built for these cars. We may have the most XF in the country in
AZ. It was great meeting cruzinquick. They took some great pics.
I will do everything I can to include both sits in the next hook up.
Everyone is always welcome.
