San Diego dealership WARNING
Went into Rancho Chrysler (on Balboa ave) on Thursday for an oil change; they had a good price for the oil change so dropped it off. Picked it up, had the normal grease left behind issues on the handles but later that night I looked at my paperwork and for some reason decided to check the oil filter number (not sure why). They installed the WRONG oil filter, they installed one for a Sprinter, 2.7 diesel engine, I was floored.
Called the next morning, they first tried to tell me - its OK, it fit in the car, it won't make any differance, are you freaking kidding me. They offered to put in the correct one (gave them the right part number 905), if I really wanted it. Of course I did, went in made them replace it and the oil, who knows what oil they put in the first time as well, the second time I stayed and watched them pick up the oil from the parts dept. Be warned!!!

That's shocking. Rancho is one of the few dealerships that SD members will vouch for. They supposedly have a Crossfire certified mechanic there too. Oh well, yet another reason to do your own oil changes

Andre was the service writer.
I would bet since the filter "fit" it didn't cause any issues and I hope it was an honest mistake you just never know. It was a cheaper filter (price) as shown on the invoice, I just don't know how you make an error like that. They had the correct VIN which should pull the parts required correctly, makes me wonder.
