Let's stay out of 17 mile drive, cost about $10 just to drive on their road. Too much traffic anytime but real bad on weekends, heck we could just cruise down the coast to Nepenthe and have lunch and much better views. About a 30 mile drive from Carmel
A place to drive fast in Monterey, not that I really know of, though you never know what "feels" right when you're on the road and push the throttle down.
Brian, Navy? at NPS?

well, as it turns out, NO one made it ... so, I put MrsS in the car and we drove out to Pacifica where we went to a BBQ joint that's going to be featured next Mon on the Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" ... it was really quite good ... after lunch, we drove down the coast to Half Moon Bay, then inland to I-280 where we turned south to SJ, then looped around and came back home ... gorgeous day ...
let's hope for better results another time ...

Too bad no one showed up, probably needed too big a chunk of time, didn't there use to be a breakfast meeting in a San Mateo coffee shop occasionally?
Let's run that up the flagpole and see if we can get off high center (woeful mixed metaphors).
Over breakfast maybe we can plan an all day cruise.
