I would be interested in finding out the production numbers for California, coupes and roadsters. If someone isn't already preparing a class action, it's just a matter of time. I bought mine in December with 44k miles on it. In january the glass started moving. Chrysler has told me no at least 3 times. Their customer resistance department are a bunch of idiots just there to keep you from speaking to someone up high to handle the problem. It is my personal opinion that Chrysler is about to go bankrupt and is just waiting for the class action to be filed. It is too bad that a third rate car company chose to give one of its best cars a black eye.
Ian - I just read your other post regarding Chrysler picking up a portion of the bill for your top replacement. I'm in the Burbank area and my rear glass is coming undone and have been turned down twice from 2 dealerships. I would love any help I can get on how you managed to smack some sense into these idiots. There really needs to be a class action lawsuit to take care of this once and for all! Thanks..

Any folks on this thread have found a reliable certified XFire Mechanic in Orange or San Diego County? I've got some serious electrical problems because of the Anti-Theft situation that has essentially rendered this vehicle unusable. Your help is appreciated.

Although I don't have first hand experience; Supreme Auto Service (small family owned, "German car specialist") appears to be a good possible prospect for someone looking for independent shop. (for So-Cal; if you're willing to travel to Beaumont, I've delivered parts there) Feedback welcome.

Haven't noticed any recent postings or information here from Southern California members and I know there must be quite a few, even if scattered around our large area. I am in the Coachella Valley/Palm Springs area and I see the occasional Crossfire on the road out here but don't see any of these owners here in the forum. If any of you are interested in getting together for a drive or a meeting, please make yourselves heard here.
Thanks, DESRTXF - '05 Roadster Limited, Auto, Blaze Red, 2-tone gray interior, 12.5K miles
Long Beach recent ( 2+ months) owner of 2005 Crossfire Ltd Roadster, 125,000 miles and LOVING IT!
If you are a local owner of a Xfire, pvt me and lets get together and compare our Xfire experiences!!
My regular mechanic Andy at Overseas Garage. who is fantastic and has serviced ALL of my cars and will do the usual oil change, brakes, tune-up and most basic maintenance but anything more serious he HIGHLY recommended Long Beach Autohaus, 3925 E. Broadway, Long Beach, CA 90803, (5620 434-4445. www.longbeachautohaus.com
I haven't needed any serious mechanic work but I plan to introduce myself to Autohaus being referred by Andy at Overseas Garage!
Anyone on this site have experience of a good repair shop. I live in palm desert California took my 2005 roadster to i10 Chrysler for a service in October 2020, when my husband went to collect the car the battery was flat. The guys jumped started the car and my husband brought it home. We tried to start it a week later it would not start so we got a new battery and it would not start. We took it back to the Chrysler dealer and it has been with them for several months. They replaced the ecu board and still could not get the top to work. They called me today saying they could not fix the top due to the hydraulics. This whole experience has cost $2,700 and to be honest I am mad with the dealership and feel they are ripping me off. My car is very low mileage and I’m so disappointed, hope there is someone who can help.

I also have an '05 Roadster. I live in Rancho Mirage and I use International Motors in Cathedral City for my service needs. They are located at 68795 Ramon Road. Tel: 760-328-6646 and are an excellent independent shop that deals specifically with German vehicles. Sean is the owner and has purchased quite a few Crossfire-specific parts and tools. I have not had any of the problems you mention, so can't vouch for the fact that he would be able to diagnose and repair the items you mention. Do you belong to any of the Crossfire Facebook groups? If not, there is a wealth of information to be gained from many of their helpful members. Try Chrysler Crossfire Tech-Parts & Rescue as well as Chrysler Crossfire Owners International. I have learned so much since joining them. My Crossfire has only 15,500 miles on it and runs and operates beautifully so far (bought it from the original owner three years ago). I am dreading the few things that I have read might start to go wrong simply from age, not miles. Rear window falling out, Sticky Key Fix, ecu Board, etc. Good luck and I hope I run into you out there someday. Mine is Blaze Red.
NEVER, NEVER use a Chrysler dealer. Only go to independent import shops that work on Mercedes. Except for the body, these are pretty much all 2004 Mercedes SLK320s. Chrysler wasn't even very good with these cars 15 years ago.
