Loose Inner Tie Rods
Loose Inner Tie Rods
I just put on a new set of Goodyear F1 GS-D3s and when NTB checked the alignment, they said my inner tie rods were loose and needed to be replaced. I only have 31,600 miles so this seems ood to me.
I plan to call my dealer and check it out - shouldn't this be covered under warranty? Is this typical wear for this mileage?
Thanks!

Depending on your warranty, I would think it should be covered!

Re: Loose Inner Tie Rods
Got my Xfire back from the dealer today after two work items: 1) four new tire pressure sensors at a warranty repair bill of $507! It was no cost to me since I am at 32K miles and 1 month away from the end of my basic warranty. But apparently all four sensors went out at once; 2) the loose inner tie rod ends, which were non-existent. Everything on the suspension and front-end checked out fine & the service guy said he would have been motivated to do the tie rod replacement at warranty pricing, but all was good.
So lesson is: don't trust tire places like NTB to service your car. My alignment I bought from them is good for 6 months and I plan to have it checked at least twice by them before it runs out.
BTW, the Eagle F1s are real nice....!
