Question regarding new rims...
Okay, I'm sure everyone has heard the same question, "Will these fit?" over and over again to the point that you're tired of replying. However, I've done a little bit of researching and have some stats that I would like to post for review, (especially by Andrew), to assure that they will indeed fit the wheel well without any rubbing or obstructions.
Here are the specifications...
I'm looking to upgrade the rims in the front to 19x8. Checking with the rim manufacturer, the 19x8 rim will have an offset of 32. When comparing this to the stock 18x7.5 with 35mm offset, I will end up with 3mm less of Inner Clearance and extend an extra 9mm to the Outer Position.
As for the rear; I'm looking to upgrade to 20x10. When comparing to the stock 19x9 with 22mm offset, I will have 16mm less of Inner Clearance and extend an extra 10mm to the Outer Position.
I spoke with a sales rep, (over the phone), who said that I can not go with the following sizes and that it is impossible to fit 20x10's on the rear of this vehicle. When I explained that there was a forum with numerous people performing this "impossible" feat of having 20's on the rear; he quickly explained that this isn't his first time selling rims and that he knows what he is talking about; and, with the same pleasant Christmas cheer (not), he went on to say that if I wanted a nice wall ornament he'd be happy to sell them to me as they are not returnable.
So, again, I come to you all who have been here and done it, as opposed to someone who is simply looking at numbers. As much of a jerk as the salesman was, he is right; I do not want any expensive wall ornaments.
Thanks in advance,
Jim

My "wall ornaments" fit nicely on the REAR AXLE of my Crossfire. I'd call him back saying "it may not be your first time selling rims but it won't be my first time buying from you..." also post who you are dealing with so that we may all avoid such smart sales people
I found the dealer on eBay, by the name of BWT (BuyWheelsToday). The guy who answered the phone obviously didn't get what he wanted for Christmas. Nonetheless, I basically told him the same as you suggested, to the degree of telling him that with his attitude I wouldn't buy anything from him, and hung up the phone. The man was very unprofessional and egotistical. Ironically, after some further research, both on the web and the forum, I found another fellow Crossfire member who has the EXACT same Rim setup as I was inquiring about. Here is his link https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ghlight=petrol
Bye, bye buywheelstoday .com
Incidentally 1010tires.com lists the wrong bolt patteren for the 2004 Crossfires. I used 2005 and its correct. (5 on 112)
Enjoy the new wheels! I just wish the Nitto INVO was out before I bought grrrrrr.... oh well the 555's ride nice too.
