Hello everybody,

I am thinking of buy new rims for my Xfire cab. 06'

Right now the rims are ( Offset )ET35 in front and ET22 in back. Those are the standard sizes.

I have found some amazing rims, replicas of the SLR Mercedes, check picture.
(rims in the internet Option M443 8x18 5/112 ET35 Nav 66.6 )

But the thing is that they are both ET35.

Do I need some spacers? WHat brand of spacers do you use?
And how is it possible that I hear people say they have different size of ET numbers?

 

And where did you find the spacers if you had to use them?

I have the same question. Would 35 et offset on both front and rear cause any problems?. Those rims look great, where did you find them?

they only problem i had with my wheels which have the same offset is that it looks terrible. the rear wheel sat closer into the car while the front sat even with the fender. i bought two 1.25" wheel adaptors and put them on the rear and problem solved..

 

I found those wheels in the internet on a swedish site.

they look good I think.

do you have a good site where it might be possible to buy a spacer?

In finland they are forbidden, but to adjust the wheels i will need some.

They look a bit out of place. Maybe too busy? Something just doesn't look right. The Xfire is a difficult car for custom wheels.

Isn't 1,25" wheel adaptor a bit to big? I ahve been told to palce only a 13mm spacer and it will do the trick. What is best?

 

Yes, I agree. 1.25" (32 mm) is excessive and might make the whole wheel a bit weak (but that is speaking as an engineer ONLY-I don't really know about cars). Applications like that might be why aftermarket spacers are illegal in Finland.

I'm installing new rims and tires this coming week and will use 15 mm in the rear and 5 mm or 10 mm in the front to stay away from the upper balljoint nut. I'll "dry fit" both front and rear, drive it and add spacers where needed to:

1. Make it work with minimal rubbing.
2. Make it look as good as possible.

If I have to send back the front tires and pay 10% plus shipping, so be it.

P.S. I spent a wonderful 6 weeks in Espoo working at the Technical Research Centre of Finland.
Interesting-that was the first time I left a pub at 2:30 AM and it was still light out! Made me re-enter the pub and continue drinking!
