Question I Would Like to Present...

Well, I'm sure to catch a bunch of flack, but this is what I did to my '05:

What do you think?

Thumbs up Re: I Would Like to Present...

Although I'm more of a stock looking person, those rims, painted calipers and cross drilled slotted rotors look REAllY good. The exhaust is also nice!!!

Thanks for the kudos gents!

They're:

Stern ST 1's 20X9.5 35 Offset rear. (15 mm Hub-centrics).

Falken 452 275/30X20's.

Stern ST 1's 19X8.5 35 offset front. (10 mm Hub centrics).

Falken 452 235/35X19's

I used spacers ONLY to clear suspension components.

Vendors used:

www.ezaccessory.com/

I did a bunch of shopping and these had the best prices for what I could afford.

Thanks again!

Again, very nice. No clearance issues in the front with 19s?

OK. They DO touch at the steering limit. But I only noticed today when I was doing the R&R on the new rotors. I never heard or felt it, but the evidence is undeniable. A 1/4" X 3/4" "buffed" area on the inside fronts of the wheelwells, both sides. But I won't change a thing. I rarely take the steering "to the stops" anyway. I can usually park without help!!! Well, most of the time!

VERY NICE setup Max. Two thumbs up from me. I know wheels for these cars can be a pain. Good choice. What Rotors (manufacturer) did you install and are they quiet?
Are you thinking about lowering the car next?

I had the st1's in chrome on my limited great rim, But wow do they look sharp machined. Just a side note I lowered my car with the exact same set up you are running now, It was the Eibach kit I didnt have any problems. It looked sharp and completed the look, take a look in my Gallery.

Damn, that does look nice. Two questions: when you lower a car like this, does the shortened suspension travel make for a harsher ride? One of the reasons I chose the Falkens was for the softer ride. And it IS noticable.

And: What can one expect to pay for an Eibach kit? And to install it?

(Ok. I went looking. ~$265? How much is reasonable to install?)

I have stated before:

I AM a poser. I don't race. I do however like to look good. Or at least drive a CAR that looks good. With my wife. She looks good!

LMK?

Thanks, Max

I bought from www.irotors.com

I bid $220 including shipping. They bit! As for quality, It looks like the plating is thick enough, and it was definitely "hot-dipped". But does not look like the photos. I've done a lot of work with plating different materials, and the only way to get the "mirror-brite" finish is with a process called "electroless nickel". But it would never work for brake rotors, I think. It's too hard and I think it would last too long 'cause it melts at ~2600 deg F.

But at least the hub and edge look nice and I hope will stay that way.

Frankly, if I did it again, I'd spring for the extra $ and go to Brakeworld and go with the DiscItalia.
