Thumbs up Whoa! $115.99 Michelin - 255/35X19" Pilot Sport PS2 at Costco

I ran across 255/35 19" tires on Costco's tire site for $115.99 each. Seems crazy cheap, especially when the price on the front tires are $277.99. Even so, the average price for a set of front/rear tires is still lower than some no-name tires.

Anybody know anything about the Pilot Sport PS2's ?? Like how well they wear, ride quality, etc? At this price I may sock a pair away since rear tires wear out faster.

I just tried that link and it failed. Going to tires.costco.com and doing the search for SRT6 tires showed the Michelin 255/35x19 Pilot Sport PS2 for $277.99 each.

Here's Tire Rack users reviews on the PS2. Anyone own a set on their CF?

I wonder why they have 4 of the same tire and 3 with different prices. It would be nice if you could get them for that price but I'm sure they will notice it when they pick the order.

They are oem tires on the Crossfire. The Contis are an option.

You are right, the link I enclosed won't get you there. But if you drill down from the following link you'll still see the $119.99 tires!

The different listings for the PS2's have different costco part #'s.... WTH ??

I need a set of rears, fronts are good.

Thanks for posting this, I pulled the trigger, with tax, mounting and balancing, state disposal fees, two new rear tires were $252 out the door...thank you, thank you, thank you !!!

If you buy them on-line, I would think the local manager will have to honor the website price.
Are you a member of Costco?

Yes I am, but Costco isn't such an exclusive club. You might have to order and pay online to get this price. I doubt they keep such an odd size in stock at the local Costo's. And then the in-store pricing via special order might be closer to retail. That's my guess anyways.

Our local Costco currently has $80 off when you buy 4 tires. I wonder if you can get the discount if you present the online receipt. Then you could get 4 rear PS2's for $96 each.

That was really meant for Cal_Cobra, but I know what you mean. It's very much like Sam'sClub, isn't it? $40 for a year or so?

But I would think you would have to be a member to pick them up?

Just put them in my name and I'll go pick them up.
I too am tempted to buy a set. That is cheaper than the Kumho Ecsta's. I have used and like both brands on the Crossfire.

Hey guys, I see the problem. The tire that is $115 is only R rated, not Y rated. That's a HUGE difference in grip. That's why there are several different prices on the Pilot PS2. They have different ratings.

Yes you have to order them online, they ship the tires within 10 business days to the warehouse you select. You also do have to be a member, they won't install them on non-member cars, although I'm sure there's ways around this (not like their the FBI or anything).

This "Y" rating is a speed rating or a grip rating ?

Sorry I thought a ZR rated PS2 was a ZR rated PS2

I'm afraid your observation is inaccurate and misleading, these tires are Y rated speed or 186 MPH. If this tire was really "r" rated for speed then the designation would be "rr" as the 1st "r" just means it's a radial construction.

Go back to the web site and click on the tab that says "Specifications" and you'll see what I mean. The UTQG index is more related to traction and wear (generally lower# means better traction)

I called Michelin - I was told that they don't make a low cost or low performance PS2 tire... All 19" PS2 tires are rated at 186 mph 96Y - - or are rated above 186 mph (96Y) look for the ( )

The PS2 is their Ultra High Performance sport tire line .. period ...

Costco made a typo - they should be $404.99 per tire + $10 install - $810.00

I purchased two for $209.98 and I will get refunded for the installation fee ($20) when I pick up the tires... as I don't need them installed just yet..

BTW - Costco emailed me the conformation and it shows the tires as:
Your Order
Qty - - Description - - Shipping Method - - Price - - Item Total - -

2 - - Michelin® Pilot Sport PS2 255/35ZR19 XL Item# 344134 - - Standard - - $104.99- - $209.98

SWEET!!!
