Default Brake Spring Failure

So I just had to take my crossfire to the doc(dealership) for a broken brake spring in the right rear. I was curious as to see if anyone has heard of/had this problem before?

I am having it fixed under warranty, but am curious if this is a common problem or if I am having a unique problem.

I do for now, but am in the midst of getting them changed? Why do you ask?

I am putting 18" all around for winter.

Some folks that changed out their rims have had trouble wiping out the e-brake spring by using too long lugs. If they penetrate the spindle too far, it interferes with the springs. And it costs a fair penny to fix too.

That's why I had to ask!

Ahh, makes sense. That could be what happened when I test fitted them, to see what they looked like. Bad move, luckily the dealer is paying for the fix. I'm an idiot. Spacers get here Friday and back on they go.

I'm still an idiot.

Z.,

do a search on "spacers". I wrote up a little guide that I hope has helped a few folks. I learned before breaking anything. The lugs can only protrude a certain distance from the inside of the spacers, and woe be unto he that doesn't observe this rule!
