That's the reason the Mercedes SLK320 is nearly a 1/2 sec. faster in the 1/4 mile. There's less rotating mass thanks to it's smaller and lighter wheels.

Well, I guess I won't be too far off from the stock weights. The stock wheels just didn't feel that heavy. Oh well.

Damn, i didn't know they were that heavy. Makes one want to go buy smaller (much smaller) track tires.

Given the fact that you now have 19's and 20's the 1lb or so difference is not even much. Your wheels may even be a tad lighter when comparing apples to apples.

From another thread on the Stock SRT wheels:
"Fronts weigh in at 44.0 pounds each without any packaging. Rears weigh in at 52.5 pounds each without any packaging."

You had me worried as I am seriously considering the Mandrus wheels.

the packing slip said 60lbs each for the fronts with tpms and tires and 68lbs each for the rears. you can feel the extra heft in the driveline actually especially under initial acceleration.

Yeah, they are definitely meant for show and cruising, but not for improved quickness. There just aren't too many options that look good and fit right on these cars. There are some nice 2 and 3 piece forged wheels, but they cost nearly as much as a Crossfire Limited! I went for improved handling/comfort/style over speed. I just hope the rear end, bearings, and transmission handle the extra rolling mass over a long period of time. We'll see. Did I say they were HEAVY?
