Default ROTEX GOLD Brake Pads

I would like to know if anyone has worn out there Rotex Gold pads yet. If so haw many miles did you get on them. I just ordered my second set. I have about 35K on the set on the car now. I havn't looked yet to see if the pads on the car are worn yet, but if I am told that they last much more than 35K I will wait to change them. I am planning a road trip from Fl to Las Vegas next month. Then in July to the all Chrysler Nationals.

It wouldn't be unusual for pads to go in about 35K miles, but it also depends on type of driving. Have you checked them for wear?

Maybe on a truck or if you are pretty aggressive on the brakes.
I would expect at least 60K out of them since they are not a real soft pad.

I took off the factory pads, due to dusting, at 19K and they did not show much wear.

I took off my front wheel to check a caliper fit for a big brake upgade I am doing and was shocked when I looked at my pads. They were still as thick as new after 20,000 miles and the rotors where perfectly smooth and showing no wear! I am using Posi-Qiet Ceramic pads which are made by Centric. They don't dust my wheels at all either and for the price of just Rotex fronts you can do all four in Ceramic Posi-Quiet pads. If you want a great pad you really should give them a try. The onlly down side I have ever had is after a wash and getting water on the cold rotors. When I back the car out of the drive way you may get a loud squeal until the rotor is clean and dry. This has only happened about five times in 1.5 years. I will never use another pad. I know the guys on here love Rotex gold but if you check the Mercedes foruns you will see they heavily favor Ceramic pads for low dust great stopping and being easy on the rotors. With these pads you may never have to worry about another brake job for many years. I bought mine on Ebay.

Rotex and Posi Quiets are made by the same manufacturer.
I prefer the semi metalics in the Posi Quiet version. Iuse them on the SRT6 & SRT 8. Very happy with them.

Wow! I didn't know it was the same manufacturer. Posi Quiet also comes in semi metalic. Semi metalic should give a little better braking but they are also harder on rotors. When I switched to Ceramic, I didn't notice any difference in braking from the factory duster pads. The ceramic pads have proven to be very gentle on my rotors which are original with 61,000 miles.

Yeah....over on the LX forums there was some question as to the mfg.
Someone ordered both sets and they were deilvered in identical boxes (except for the name) and even had the same mfg part number on the boxes. Clearly that are just relabeled to various brands. I think they are also sold under a couple other brands.
I like the Posi Quiets "brand" since they seem to list more material choices and have more consumer available information.

Mechanic suggests that Textar CeramicFusion is superior to Akebono Euro.
Looks like they might be re-branded Centrics - anybody try them?
