Looks great! I am enjoying mine and love the initial bite and the authority in which the car now stops. I have been fighting an intermitant brake squeal but it seems to be going away finally. I will get to work on the rears next.

Rears are no big deal, bolt on. Not a big difference in normal braking, but on the track if you're "trail braking" the extra rear braking gives better balance.

You really should try the EBC "red stuff" pads -- even better bite, and great modulation. Low dust too.....

Do you think $750us shipped to Canada is a good deal for a complete set of front and rear calipers with brackets? I have located some and have them on hold but want to make sure i am paying a fair price...

Oh and just to confirm, calipers for a 2003 C32 AMG will fit the bill right?

I'm not sure what you refer to as "brackets" -- the C32AMG calipers bolt directly in where the stock Xfire brakes attach, without any extra brackets.

Rotors are expensive -- look 'em up before you commit !!! I paid just a bit more than that including the rotors and pads......

Also, remember the stock Xfire wheels may not clear the front calipers without spacers.

Thanks for the reply Tazz. Ya, I plan on installing 12mm and 10mm spacers on the car prior to the brake upgrade. Thats good to know about the brackets, baybe I get get them to lower the price a bit with out the brackets!

Thanks again!

If you have a pic of these parts, you might want to send it to me so I can confirm they look right. The part about the brackets concerns me, as on the C32AMG the calipers bolt on without any brackets, on both front and rear.

If they are the Brembo front calipers, the Xfire mounting bolts should work. But for the rear calipers, you need the longer bolts as used on the C32AMB. Make sure you clean everything and use Loktite blue and torque to the proper values -- you don't want these babies coming loose!!! Oh, the rear bolts are 16mm (which a lot of socket or wrench sets don't include for some reason).

What rotors are you getting? Don't forget the rear rotors incorporate the drums for the parking brake.

Good Idea to send a picture. I have seen a couple online places selling ATE front cailpers which look like our stock calipers. Just be sure of what you are getting.

That's what I was afraid of when he said "brackets" == I worry about the set up being the sliding caliper type like the stock Xfire brakes !!!

Here are some pic's I grabbed elsewhere -- gives you a rough idea of what the calipers should look like. C32AMG are usually silver, but may have been painted other colors. Hope this helps.....

If you get them, remember to mount them with the bleeder screws up (the air bubbles rise, and that's what you want to bleed off.....sounds stupid, but I've seen so many mounted bleeder screws down...)

New pic --- went with the SRT-6 wheels for the better X-factor, can go with 5mm spacers in the front and clear the big brakes. They're lighter too.....but a ***** to clean!

Tazz, Looks really good. Did you have to use spacers? I didn't have to with my wheels which are similar spoke pattern, but my front wheels are 8 inch wide instead of 7.5"

I still have a full set of used SRT6 rotors sitting in the garage that are looking for a home. Lots of miles left on them. I upgraded at about 23K miles. If anyone goes with the CL500/SL500 calipers (or anything else that uses the 330mm rotor) they would work with the SRT6 rotors.

Yes, used 5mm on the front to clear the calipers. Sorry, I just cannot bring myself to grind down the outside of the calipers and then trust my a*s to them at the end of the straight at 220kph!!

I sure wouldn't grind on the calipers either. I am more curious about what wheel fit the set up. I have the S/CL class version which uses the 330mm SRT/SLK32 rotor and they did clear my wheels. If I Had gone with the C32 345mm rotor, I would even have more clearance. Just remember that as long as your front bearings are good you only need enough clearance to slide a business card into.

I've got negative 1.5mm clearance, so have to go the spacer route.....the rears do not need anything, even with the C32AMG rear brakes.

with the std. N/A wheels, had to go over 15mm spacer on the front, which I did not want to do.
