No Squeal, No Dust Brake Pads?
I'm running Porterfield R4S pads. The squeal when cold and it takes more pressure to stop. When warm, no noise and great grip. No dust driving on the street and much less at the track, but not dust free.

Like Mike in Orange I too have run the Posi Quiet Ceramics for 7-8k now and I love the almost zero dust.
Never have heard a squeek from them either.
I don't race, but in normal modes of driving they seem fine, with nice firm pedal pressure.

Sometimes part of the issues with squeaks have to do with lubricating the components during installation:
* Make sure you use a silicone based grease (i got mine from Autozone, AGS / .14 oz. (4 g.) Sil-Glyde brake lubricant , 1.19usd each, used 2 poaches)
*Get rid of baked brake dust on the guides//rails where the brake pads silde, screwdriver will do (on the caliper) or soft paper-sander. When clean, lubricate guides//rails.Some folks use brake cleaner, i didn't deem as necessary.
*Lubricate back side of brake pads, slide pins (2) and slide pin caps.
Put everything back together...it work for my Rotex. Hope helps.

I installed the Duralast Gold Cmax on the front about 400 miles ago. Very quiet, bedded quickly, no dust, stop at least as well as the OEM brakes. I don't know how the ceramic will treat the rotors yet, (premature wear?). And the Autozone lifetime warranty should be good. I have also read in another forum that these particular brakes appear to be made by Satisfied for Autozone. Cost was $69.99 plus tax.

Well, glad I read this thread because I was about to take my Xfire back to the brake place that put on my Rotex brakes to figure out this squeal! Sounds like they just do that! I hate it though! Before even when I had tons of brake dust on my wheels, they never squeaked! Now I sound like a 74 courier pickup pulling up behind people! Embarrasing! Have to admit though, since I put on the Rotex's, the brake dust has nearly been non existant! OH well! Gripe Gripe Gripe! :-)
I have had Akebonos for 8 months, and I tell you " They are the best brake pads I ever had". I also have Powerslot rotors. I got them both off of the TIRE RACK at the same time, IMO a great combo.
just bought the posi quiets after reading the posts and looking at pricing. got the ceramics for $50. if weather holds, will install next week.

I have put over 20K miles on Akebonos, and they look brand new. I have not had to do anything special in cleaning the wheels because of brake dust. They are great. Got them thru Rock Auto for about $55. They come with the wear sensors. Hint: Put the sensors on the inside pads before installing. They are snug and may require a little reaming with a rattail file.
I've been running Rotex Golds on the fronts for the past 6K miles or so and have no complaints at all. No dust, quiet, good bite, etc.
For street driving, they bite just fine but don't seem quite as good as the stockers. I was so sick of the dust though, that I still think these pads are better.

EBC Greenstuff works a treat! now squeal at all. Always more dust tough...
