Default I'm so mad; How do I fix this?

I was pulling through a drive thru at Walgreens and didn't see a curb. I've pealed off the chrome on this rim. Where do I begin to fix this? has to be done before I drive to Texas. Please help.

Jane

Jane, it looks strictly cosmetic to me. For the short term, you might want to remove the metal burr sticking out. If you know the source that chromed the wheels, contact them to see if they can fix it.

I bought these from a dealer in St.Louis, so I don't know who chromed it. Does anyone know of a good chromer.

sorry to hear that jane, while the damage may be cosmetic. I know the feeling, and it isn't good! I rashed my chrome rims 2 months ago, and found out that chromeing is illeagle in washington oregon and idaho. and i've been told that it would be cheaper to buy new rims than to ship them both to califorina and then have them re chromed.

good luck, herman

that is a nasty curb hit...you need to get another wheel...I would think shipping it out for repair and re-chroming would cost more than just buying another chrome wheel to replace it Jane...are those stock XF wheels???

Thanks, everyone for your help. Doc: those were the rims that Erzer help me get so I could use my stock rims on the race car. They are less than 6 months old and they sure are pretty. The back rim was bent and the front is now trashed, so I think I will take all your advice and buy two new ones. My god, the expense never ends. And to think I want to buy another one. I must be crazy. Yep, I am.

Yep once the chrome is damaged the only solution is a rechrome.

Sorry but it pricey to look fancy. My new Mandrus milleniums are even more exposed than the stock rims and I have to be very careful.

Well at least you can still drive for now!
