Default Interest in Adjustable Sway Bar End Links?

I'm in the process of putting together a set of rear sway bar end links for my car. I'm installing a larger sway bar, so I figured now would be the best time.

The stock pieces are plastic and these will be chromoly with adjustable rod ends. If there is interest we can get a GB going. These things can run anywhere from 75.00 to 200.00 or more depending on materials used.

Basically this will allow you to correct pre-load caused by lowering your car, and better dial in under/over steer. It is a basic bolt in that will not require any special tools for the install.

If there are 10 interested people we can all just split the cost of parts, not trying to turn a profit on this.

I could be interested. But I'm not interested in a set of clucky links that rattle constantly and always come loose. What sway bar did you go with? Thanks

I went with the HR sway for the rear. I believe it is the same size as the SRT, but solid. I just priced out a set of endlinks and they will be Heim ends that are teflon/kevlar coated on the inner bearing, cold forged SS rod, SS jam nuts, and SS reducers and bolts. The only modification that will be necessary if to open the hole on the sway bar and the chassis to 1/2" as right now it is only 1/4". This will allow for a much sturdier link and actually a less expensive one as 1/4" is an odd size.

With the materials I just purchased we are probably looking at about 170.00 a set. That of course all depends on if what I purchased will work effectively. We can save about 50.00 if we go with less expensive heims but that's not a place I want to save money.

Is this something you can use on the NA? I am sure it would require the same 1/2" modification as well?

i swore i remember seeing someone on here finding a set of adjustable control arms for a slk or building there own..

if not, i may have to build myself a set sooner or later. just need to worry about pinion angles just like i will after lowering the car...

but yes, i'm still on the list for adjustable sway bar end links.

Yes, most if not all our parts are built for the NA and then if they fit the SRT, then they can enjoy them too.

Our shop car is a NA.

I don't know anything about adjusting sway bars, but if you include a tutorial I'd be interested in a set of the adjustable links.

You can adjust load and preload by tightening or loosening the links. This will allow for corner weight adjustment, over/understeer adjustment, and better side to side distribution.

Photos are up of the prototyps on our Flickr Site.

Ok we are ready to put these into production.

Attached are pics of the prototype and fitment of the heim joint.

Finished product will be 6061 Rod, ALuminum nuts, and Teflon/Kevlar Aluminum Heim Joints (SS optional). The kit will also include SS reducers and Grade 8 SS bolts and nylon locking nuts. Basically everything you will need except the tools.

I can do a pair for 170.00 shipped on the first 10 orders, and then I will retail these at 209.00.

If you would like to pay by Money order or check, knock off 4%. If you want to stop by and pay cash, even lower.

PM me if interested.

Ebay, H&R sways for SLK320. Just as a heads up the install for the rear is a huge PITA and you only get 2mm. It's very very tight back there.
