lowered suspension
lowered suspension
well it was bound to happen! i have dressed my slk32 in oz bottecelli rims and dunlop rubber in 18". 255/35-18 rear and 225/40-18 now im looking at it and thinking i need to be lowered!!
my question is do i have to lower the front as well as the rear?
what is the proper way to do this? im just guessing but it looks like i need about 3/4" drop in the back and maybe 1/2" or less in the front.
i have read all about camber bolts camber arms adj. links and im in overload. should i use lower springs? shocks? coilovers?
i really have no idea and dont want any knind of hackjob , no spring cutting.
any ideas or opinions would be welcome. im going to make a wild assumption that the srt-6 anf my 32 have the same suspension.

Re: lowered suspension
Get some Eibach's Eibach Pro-Kit Spring Set. You can't go wrong with them. That may be all you want to do so try that first. If you decide that you want to change ride characteristics, then look at koni adjustable shocks. That is what I would do anyways.
P.S. We need to see some pics of the new shoes and socks.

Re: lowered suspension
I've got the Eibachs on my SRT. You may need to do some fine tuning with the spring pads. I put the thickest (5 dot) on the front and got 1/2 inch drop and on the back I went with the thinnest (1 dot) and got 1 1/2 inch drop. I have some slight rubbing both front and rear but it's because my tires are 4 mm taller than stock. 235/40/18 on the front and 265/35/19 on the back. The drop looks hot. The performance ..... I don't see an improvement. Now the Koni's made a huge difference in the ride and handling. (I did the Koni's first and the Eibachs 6 months later.)

i was going to shoot some pics today but ended up checking out jmh2k's sweet new crossfire out!!
we discussed all his future mods and i think carbon fiber accents would be awesome!! what about guys?
try to get some pics this weekend!
love the rims but undecided about the tires. dunlop direzza sports and they are a smoke fest! hit it with the esp off and laid down 30 ft of rubber. no traction at all!. i was told these tires are a bear to get heated in the winter.

Re: lowered suspension
Steve, the rims are gorgeous. I think you'd like the Dunlops in the summer but for now, they are simply ice-cold.
Fronts don't need to come down that far at all, they actually have less gap than mine. Rears... maybe just a tick. I still think more people are going to be focused on the awesome wheels than the minor gap.
